  • Patent number: 8516921
Abstract: A shift cable assembly in one implementation may include a conduit, a core received within the conduit, a rod coupled to an end of the core, a slide tube in which the rod is received, and a multi-directional connector. The connector may have a housing coupled to the rod, a first surface with a first opening, a second surface with a second opening, and a cavity communicated between the first and second openings. The cavity is adapted to receive a component through either one of the first and second openings, and a fastener extends into the cavity between the first and second openings to engage a component received in the cavity and retain the component relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 8141454
Abstract: A cable assembly may include a cable, a connector and a retainer coupled to the connector. The connector may be carried by the cable and include a reduced diameter portion and a head extending from the reduced diameter portion with at least a portion that is larger than the reduced diameter portion. The retainer may be coupled to the connector and include a body with a cavity and a tip that defines an opening leading to the cavity. In assembly, the head is received within the cavity with the reduced diameter portion extending out of the cavity and into the opening. The opening is noncircular and has a minimum diameter that is smaller than at least the largest diameter portion of the head so that at least a portion of the tip radially overlaps the largest diameter portion of the head to retain the head within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 7226234
Abstract: A connection for a rod and pin includes a two piece housing molded from hard plastic which defining a cavity enclosing a soft elastomeric isolator on one end of the rod. The housing pieces also define a pin receiving cavity with retention prongs which engage and hold a pin inserted therein. The housing pieces are able to be snap fit assembled by interfitting prongs and receptacles formed on each housing piece. The housing pieces are molded together as one part, connected by an integral hinge allowing the housing parts to be swung into abutment with each other to be snap fit together.

  • Patent number: 7146875
Abstract: A cable assembly includes an adjuster body having a plurality of teeth, a slider movable along the adjuster body, and a lock body having a plurality of teeth. The lock body is movable between a disengaged position allowing movement of the slider along the adjuster body and an engaged position preventing movement of the slider along the adjuster body. A mounting bracket receives the slider and has edges located in opposed lateral slots of the lock body. The lock body has a first section on one side of the mounting bracket which interlocks with the slider and a second section on the other side of the mounting bracket which forms the plurality of teeth. The interlock includes tabs of the first section extending into pockets of the slider. The lock body has a snap lock at one end opposed to the mounting bracket and engagable with the slider.

  • Patent number: 4896485
Abstract: A lawn mower hitch assembly which includes a hitch bar pivotally secured between a towing vehicle and the front of a lead lawn mower substantially at its longitudinal axis. The hitch connection on the towing vehicle is above the hitching connection on the mower relative to the ground whereby forward towing reduces the friction between the front wheels of the mower and the ground, thus permitting smooth cutting even while changing direction. The lead mower includes connector interior of each rear wheel which mate with connectors at the interior of the front wheels of following mowers. Additional mowers may be connected to the following mowers in the same manner. Angle iron plates having a plurality of boreholes are attached to the front and rear of the lawn mowers to provide a vertical adjustment of the connectors to control the amount of friction on the front wheels of the trailing mowers.

  • Patent number: 4131379
Abstract: A three-piece self-retaining conduit anchoring device is disclosed for connecting a co-axial cable assembly with a support structure, including an inner sleeve member, an outer sleeve member concentrically arranged about the inner sleeve member, and a collar member concentrically arranged about the outer sleeve member. One end of the collar member abuts one side of the support, the other end of the collar member being supported against axial displacement by flange portions at the corresponding ends of the inner and outer sleeve members. The outer sleeve member includes a plurality of circumferentially arranged external resilient prongs that engage the other side of the support, which outer sleeve member is connected against axial displacement relative to the inner sleeve and collar members. Consequently, the collar flange and the outer sleeve prongs grip opposite surfaces of the support structure to rigidly connect the anchoring device thereto.
