  • Patent number: 4516361
Abstract: A molded pole-type sandpapering tool (10) comprising a molded body member (12) having a flat backing surface (14) for the sandpaper (210) and a handle mounting surface (16) on the opposite side thereof which includes a two-piece resilient molded universal joint (18) to which a molded handle mount (22) is attached and two pairs of spaced apart peripherally disposed molded contoured guide ramps (200a-200b, 200c-200d) adjacent opposite sides of the universal joint (18) and defining a pair of substantially orthogonally disposed slots (202a-202f) for the universally mounted handle (18) for enabling planar positioning thereof for applying optimum positive pressure to the abrasive surface. The contoured guide ramps comprise sloped contoured surfaces which positively guide the handle (20) on a contoured path between the orthogonal slots during universal movement of the handle (20) substantially in the plane of the abrasive surface (210) while maintaining optimum pressure.

  • Patent number: 4509260
Abstract: An improved retractable knife includes a frontal part of the blade carrier, which has a bottom blade supporting ledge, is embodied as a pallet adapted to firmly mount and support the area of the blade which remains within the handle so that there is no play or rattle of the blade irrespective of whether an apertured or solid blade is mounted on the carrier. The pallet has a plurality of register pins receivable in corresponding notches provided in a trapezoidal type cutting blade at the edge opposite the blade cutting edge.

  • Patent number: 4359158
Abstract: A blister pack structure for the storage and display of articles, especially elongated articles, said blister pack comprising a relatively stiff backing sheet serving as a substrate upon which the elongated article is supported and a transparent cover sheet having marginal portions thereof affixed to said substrate and defining an enclosure for receiving at least a portion of said article. The configuration of the enclosure substantially conforms to the outline of said article. The length of the article is greater than the length of the enclosure whereby one end of the article extends into the enclosure while the opposite end of the article extends beyond one end of the enclosure to facilitate and in fact encourage handling of the exposed portion of the article. Fastening means affixed to the enclosure retains the article within the package and prevents inadvertent removal of the article from the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4005525
Abstract: A retractable cutting implement, such as a utility knife, comprises a sleeve-like handle member having a cavity portion with the handle member being open at the base and at one end through a first longitudinal slot. A carrier member is pivotally mounted to the handle for pivotal movement into and out of the cavity with the carrier member being resiliently held within the cavity when it is pivotally moved into the cavity for substantially closing the cavity. The carrier member comprises a substantially enclosed longitudinally extending chamber with a passage therein in communication with the one end of the first slot in the handle member and a blade carriage member is slidably mountable in this chamber for slidable movement toward and away from the passage.
