  • Patent number: 5737968
Abstract: A gear motor assembly having a three-part molded housing consisting of a gear case having one open side for housing a reduction gear train, a rotatably driven output shaft and coaxial cam; a circuit board cover having one open side for housing a printed circuit board and motor control components including a cam operated switch for periodically deenergizing an electric DC motor also mounted on the circuit board, and a gear case cover interposed between the gear case and circuit board, which is welded to the gear case and circuit board cover to effect a sealed protective housing.

  • Patent number: 5256921
Abstract: A gear motor having an output shaft for driving the dispensing mechanism of a vending machine includes a plurality of magnetically operated switches positioned adjacent one end of the output shaft and a plurality of magnets attached to that end of the output shaft. A DC electric motor is energized by a computer to rotate the output shaft in a first direction until one of the magnetic switches is actuated by a magnet, which instructs the computer to reverse the polarity of power to the DC motor, reversing the direction of the motor and the output shaft. When the output shaft is returned to its standby position, one or more of the switches are again actuated which instructs the computer to terminate power to the DC motor. An enclosure surrounds the switches and magnets and protects them from the ambient.

  • Patent number: 4690198
Abstract: An injector of the piston type for a die casting machine is disclosed having means for ejecting molten material mixed with a minimal volume of air and means for compensating for thermal expansion such that the pressure applied between the nozzle of the injector and the gate of a die is substantially constant as the injector heats up.
