  • Patent number: 4324138
Abstract: A method of and apparatus and system for determining temperature conditions within an environment is disclosed. The method includes utilization of one or more transducers disposed within the environment. One or more of the transducers are selectively scanned to either intermittently or continuously monitor signals generated at any location along the transducers. Additionally, the method includes selectively identifying one or more of the scanned transducers which generate signals of interest and converting such signals into a sense perception signal indicative of a temperature of interest. The apparatus and system includes utilization of one or more transducers disposed within the environment. It also includes scanning means operatively associated with at least one transducer for sensing signals generated at any location along the transducers and which is capable of identifying one or more scanned transducers which generate signals of interest.
