  • Patent number: 5186900
Abstract: An assembly for collecting and transporting fluid biological samples such as blood including an impact resistant outer container having a soft foam cushioning pad disposed across the bottom and top thereof, a protective wrap of plastic bubble packaging material surrounding a pair of blood sampling tubes and a multi-sample syringe assembly disposed between the cushioning pads, a sealable evidence bag, tamper evidencing tapes, an instruction manual, a non-alcoholic swab, and an liquid absorbent packet contained therein. The outer container and its contents are initially enclosed and sealed in a tamper evidencing wrapper. The assembly may be subjected to extraordinarily rough handling with the contents of the blood sampling tubes remaining intact.

  • Patent number: 5134875
Abstract: A container for breath alcohol simulator solution comprising a self-standing 4 mil polyethylene bag having a removable label designating the quantity and calibration concentration of the fluid contained within the bag. The label may be removed from the bag and affixed to the breath alcohol simulator. A plurality of the filled bags are packaged in an upstanding position within a front and top opening carton having a pivoting lid for transportation, storage and use. The bag may be torn open and the fluid contents poured into a cavity within the breath alcohol simulator, or the bag may be opened and placed partially or entirely within the breath alcohol simulator with a gas inlet extending into the bag beneath the fluid level. Alternatively, the bag may be placed within a breath alcohol simulator having a gas inlet or outlet equipped to puncture the bag, with the simulator solution then being discharged into the cavity, or the air passed through the simulator solution within the bag.

  • Patent number: 4917867
Abstract: An apparatus for collecting and transporting dual biological samples such as blood and urine comprising an impact resistant outer container having a soft foam cushioning pad disposed across the bottom, and a thicker protective collar of dense foam placed on top of the cushioning pad. The protective collar defines bores extending therethrough and sized to receive a tamper resistant sealed specimen vial and lid assembly, a pair of blood sampling tubes, and a multi-sample sterile syringe assembly. An instruction manual, tamper evidencing sealing tapes, and a non-alcoholic swab are enclosed in the outer container, along with an upper cushioning pad similar to that at the bottom of the container. The outer container is then closed with a lid and sealed in a temper evidencing wrapper.

  • Patent number: 4873193
Abstract: An apparatus for collecting and preserving fluid biological evidence comprising a specimen vial and lid, the lid having an adhesive coated disk inserted therein with the lid initially being inverted on the rim of the specimen vial and encased in a tamper evident plastic wrapper. The specimen vial and lid, encased in the tamper evident wrapper, are sealed along with a pair of adhesive backed sealing tapes, an instruction manual, and a compressible foam cushioning pad, within an outer container with a second tamper evident plastic wrapper.

  • Patent number: 4276948
Abstract: A microwave oven cooking time scale for predetermining cooking time for a known amount of food to reach a predetermined temperature for a predetermined heating efficiency of the food in a microwave oven. The microwave oven cooking time scale includes a balance beam scale with food positioned at a fixed point on one side of the balance beam and a counterweight adjustable along the length of a cylindrical information chart rotatably engaged on the balance beam. The counterweight includes a pointer which indicates on the rotatable cylindrical informational chart the proper cooking time to reach a predetermined particular temperature. The cylindrical information chart is divided as a function of time and temperature on an x-y axis and can be subdivided as a function of cooking efficiency, cooking power, and cooking moisture on the y axis. The cylindrical information cylinder is replaceable for different models or manufacturers of microwave ovens.
