  • Patent number: 7140090
Abstract: A technique for securing a conduit box to a housing of an electric motor is disclosed. The technique includes forming a hollow extension from a surface of the conduit box. The conduit box is placed on a motor frame so that the hollow extension is inserted into a hole in the motor frame that passes into the hollow interior of the motor frame. The hollow extension is plastically deformed inside the motor housing to a greater width than the diameter of the hole in the motor housing so that the conduit box cannot be removed from the motor housing. A stator is placed in the motor housing and wiring is routed from the stator to the interior of the wiring box through a passageway formed by the hollow extension.

  • Patent number: 4806183
Abstract: Apparatus for applying adhesive onto flutes of single facers of corrugated media, so that the single facers may be adhered together and to a facing to form a composite web, comprises a plurality of adhesive applicator rolls, each for applying adhesive to the flutes of an associated one of the single facers. The actual speed of travel of the single facers passing across the applicator roll peripheries is sensed, and the rate of rotation of each roll is independently and accurately controlled, in accordance with the sensed speed, to apply a desired amount of adhesive onto selected areas of the flutes. The independent accurate control over applicator roll speeds enables minimum amounts of adhesive to be applied onto the flutes of the individual single spacers, as determined by their configurations and consistencies, while still ensuring proper adhesive of the single facers one to the other ad to the facing.

  • Patent number: 4586916
Abstract: Apparatus for separating folded two-on cartons is characterized by a carton supply station for advancing cartons seriatim to a separating station. At the separating station, opposite edges of each carton are gripped and first moved away from each other to pull the two-on carton apart into two separate cartons, and then moved toward each other to bring the separated cartons back together. The separated cartons are then conveyed out of the separating station while the supply station simultaneously advances the next successive two-on carton to the separating station.

  • Patent number: 4530692
Abstract: Apparatus for opening a folded rectangular corrugated carton, of a type having score lines between panels thereof, is characterized by a pair of V-shaped channels for receiving the folded carton therebetween, such that score lines along opposite side edges of the carton are positioned within the channels. A motor drives the channels together, so that as pressure is applied to the carton the panels are folded about the panel scores to open the carton.
