  • Publication number: 20080179477
Abstract: An improved scaffolding securement system is provided which is adjustable and reusable. By securing a first threaded bar to a building and a second threaded bar to a scaffold, a turnbuckle provided therebetween allows for incremental adjustment of the distance between the scaffold and the building as desired. Additionally, as the profile of the portion of the scaffolding securement system connected to the structure is slightly smaller than a standard brick, only one brick need be left out of the structure and subsequently placed when the scaffolding securement system is removed. By utilizing a collar around the scaffold, the scaffolding securement system allows for incremental lateral adjustments of the scaffolding securement system relative to the scaffold, with a set screw locking the scaffolding securement system relative to the scaffold when the desired orientation has been achieved.

  • Publication number: 20080017840
Abstract: A safety rail system for protection of workers at construction sites. The system uses removable posts secured to joists supporting balconies, decking and the like. The safety rail system can be installed and removed using standard tools. The system uses standard rails, removably secured to the posts which are preconfigured to meet existing code regulations. The improved rail system reduces undesired deconstruction of the safety rail system, but allows for ease of removal and replacement.

  • Publication number: 20080005994
Abstract: A siding securement system for attaching siding to a structure. The system includes threaded fasteners having a portion of the shank non-threaded. The threaded portion of the shank is inserted into a metal stud using a self-tapping tip, while the siding is provided with elongated slots which ride along the non-threaded portion of the fastener. The freedom of movement of the siding along the non-threaded portion of the fastener prevents the siding from buckling, bubbling or warping which accompanies expansion, contraction and movement as the result of elemental effects on the siding.

  • Publication number: 20080005942
Abstract: An improved sign is provided with a pair of rollers secured to opposite ends of a display surface. A first roller is provided within a first tube formed in one side of the display surface, and a second roller is provided in a tube formed on an opposite side of the display surface. A pair of handles are journaled to the rollers and the display surface is constructed in a manner which biases the display surface toward a curled orientation around the tubes. When the handles are pulled apart from one another, the sign unfurls and the message is displayed. When the handles are released, the bias of the display surface toward the curled orientation causes the rollers to move toward one another as the sign curls back around the rollers into a compact configuration for transportation or storage.

  • Publication number: 20070166126
Abstract: An apparatus for securing vinyl siding to a surface having a head and a shaft that extends outwardly from the head and terminates in a tip. The shaft has a substantially smooth portion adjacent the head and a threaded portion that extends from the smooth portion toward the tip. The smooth portion is received within a slot in the vinyl such that the vinyl may slide longitudinally along the length of the slot in relation to the screw.

  • Patent number: 7195099
Abstract: A support member for roof scaffolding having a base plate that is designed to be secured to a roof deck. The base plate is operably connected to a hinged plate that carries on it a sleeve that is used to engage scaffolding. Because of the way the hinged plate is mounted onto the base plate, a wedged end plate is formed to allow the base plate to easily slip underneath a shingle on a roof. Furthermore, because of the hinged plate the scaffolding is able to be maintained at a right angle to the ground.
