  • Publication number: 20170177725
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for developing an item data model for an item. Aspects of the invention can automate the process of data collection of “facts” for “items” that information is needed about. Facts can be organized and normalized to eliminate redundant facts, and interpret what is found. Data requirements extraction and automated modeling using a combination of data virtualization, data analytics, extract, transform, and load (ETL), web crawlers, and reverse engineering systems, can be used along with other technologies to develop an item model. A model owner feeds a curating module with the information for locating the facts to be used, and initiating the modeling process. Existing data structures, websites, vendor input, etc. can be described to the import process, and an item model is produced. The model can be imported into existing modeling tools for viewing, or viewed as XML.

  • Publication number: 20170177748
Abstract: A user inputs an address to a computer system, which retrieves an aerial image of the lot and identifies features visible in the image. A user selects a feature and a scanning drone is programmed with GPS coordinates of the boundary of the feature. The drone scans the feature and a model is generated. Upgrades for the feature are selected based on local weather and other factors. The model is updated according to a selected upgrade and rendered for a user. Training materials may be generated that include illustrations of the model modified to show intermediate stages of applying an upgrade. Materials required to apply the upgrade are determined from a surface area of the feature, including taking into account texture detected by scanning.

  • Publication number: 20170180925
Abstract: The present disclosure deals with a system and a method to track the position of moveable assets in a geographic location. Beacon generating devices, attached to moveable assets transmit beacon signals encoded with data. Sensors distributed around the geographic locations affixed to fixed assets detect the beacon signals and extract the encoded data. The Sensors transmit the data to a computing system. The computing system stores and analyzes the data. An event can be triggered by the computing system based on the analysis of the stored data.

  • Publication number: 20170148324
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for navigating a customer to a parking space. A customer sends a request from a mobile device or vehicle navigation system for directions to a parking space in a store parking lot. A store computer receives the customer request along with parking requests from other customers. The store computer identifies appropriate candidate parking spaces utilizing camera systems, sensor systems, location of customer mobile devices, and point-of-sale (POS) activity. The store computer identifies the candidate spaces for each customer based on their proximity to the store and their parking preferences. The store computer transmits navigation instructions to parking spaces via the customer mobile devices and/or the vehicle navigation systems. The parking space is stored in the customer mobile device and is used by the customer upon exiting the store for navigation instructions back to the customer parking space.

  • Publication number: 20170150127
Abstract: A virtual training system includes a 3D scanner in recording space and a camera. A scan of the recording space are received and combined to make a sequence of models of the recording space while a tasks is being performed. The model states are presented in sequence to a trainee in a playback space and the actions of the trainee are detected. Deviation of the trainee or objects in the playback space from the trainer and objects in the recording space may be detected and alerts generated. Scanning of the recording space may be accelerated by making a full scan followed by partial scans. The partial scans may be performed in response to detected movement.

  • Patent number: 9654734
Abstract: A virtual conferencing system includes a 3D scanner in a local region and a camera. A scan of the local region and images are received and combined to make a model that is transmitted to a remote region. A remote model from the remote region is combined and rendered for a user in the local region. A reference point in the local region is mapped to a reference point in the remote region. The remote model is oriented with respect to the local region according to the reference points. Object in the remote and local regions may be filtered from models that are transmitted. Interactions with virtual objects in the local region may invoke modification virtual objects. Modifications may be transmitted to the remote region and superimposed on real objects corresponding to the virtual objects.

  • Publication number: 20170061346
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for correlating data from satellite images with retail location performance. A computer system accesses extracted satellite image data that has been extracted from satellite imagery of a retail location. The computer system also accesses one or more other types of data related to the retail location, such as, for example, retail location performance data and data pertaining to community events within the retail location community. The computer system performs a statistical analysis to determine the correlation between the satellite image data and one or more of the community events and the retail location performance. The computer system generates a visualization of the analyzed data for presentation at a display device to assist with making operations related decisions for the retail location. In some aspects, the satellite imagery is overlaid on the visualization of the analyzed data.

  • Publication number: 20170046708
Abstract: The present disclosure extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for detecting and responding to potentially fraudulent tender. A customer presents a form of a tender at a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal in a retail location. The tender is presented as payment for one or more items. Transaction data, including tender data, item data, and geographic data, is sent to a central system for analysis. The central system determines that the presented tender is potentially fraudulent based on: the one or more items, purchase history associated with the presented tender, and the geographic location of the POS terminal. In response, in-store surveillance equipment at the retail location is used to save a recording of the customer. One or more parties designated for asset protection are alerted about the potentially fraudulent tender.

  • Publication number: 20160036875
Abstract: Various aspects and embodiments facilitate management of digitally emulated physical resources. Users can access a management system to create pairings between digitally emulated resources and physical resources. The paired resources can be consistently managed through the system, such that any user from any source can access and dynamically reserve physical and digital resources. In further embodiments, the system can create pairings between the digital emulation and physical resources based on merge operations performed on multiple digital emulations of resources, copy and pasting for other digital emulation of resources, and digital altering of existing resources. The system enables efficient management, control, and implements security for digital and physical resources using, for example, a “digital room.” Security rules and enforcement can be specified within the digital rooms based on access rights, content displays, and can be specific to each resource controlled by the digital room.
