  • Publication number: 20070037658
Abstract: A multi-speed automatic transmission includes an input and output, first, second and three planetary gear units, each gear unit including a sun gear, a ring gear, planet pinions meshing with the sun gear and the ring gear, and a carrier rotatably supporting the planet pinions. A first brake alternately holds against rotation and releases the sun gear of the second gear unit and the sun gear of the third gear unit. A second brake alternately holds and releases the carrier of the second gear unit. A first clutch alternately connects and disconnects the carrier of the first gear unit and the ring gear of the third gear unit. A second clutch alternately disconnects and connects the carrier of the first gear unit to the sun gears of the second gear unit and third gear unit. A third clutch alternately releases and connects the input and ring gear of the first gear unit to the carrier of the second gear unit.

  • Patent number: 7076742
Abstract: A treemap generation engine enables a user of a treemap generation application to design a treemap display page by providing inputs that define the format of the treemap display page, as well as inputs that define the data to be represented by the treemap display page. Based on the inputs, the treemap generation application generates treemap display data that can be processed by a browser application to draw a treemap display page on a computer.

  • Patent number: 7027052
Abstract: A treemap with cells that have a minimum size so that large data sets can be clearly represented. A treemap that represents a plurality of data elements is generated, the treemap including a plurality of two-dimensional cells. Each cell represents a corresponding data element in the data set. The treemap includes a portion of a display screen assigned to a first cell so that the first cell has a size. A portion of the display screen is then assigned to a subsequent cell. The size of the first cell is adjusted in order to compensate for a size of the subsequent cell and to maintain the minimum cell size.

  • Publication number: 20050204837
Abstract: A power transmission for a motor vehicle includes an input, first and second input shafts, a layshaft, drive elements connecting the input shafts to the output and layshaft, couplers, a first clutch for connecting and disconnecting the input and the first input shaft, and a second clutch for connecting and disconnecting the input and the second input shaft. A first torque path driveably connects the first input shaft to the layshaft. A second torque path driveably connects the second input shaft to the layshaft. A third torque path driveably connects the layshaft and output. A bridge torque path driveably connects the first input shaft and the output.

  • Publication number: 20050101429
Abstract: In a driveline for a motor vehicle, an automatic transmission having an output shaft connected to a transfer case input, a planetary gearset, a coupler having positional states that alternatively produce a high speed range and low speed range, a friction clutch that alternatively driveably connects the output and a forward drive shaft, or releases the connection between the output and forward drive shaft, without regard to the positional state of the coupler or speed range produced by the transfer case.

  • Patent number: 4830361
Abstract: A hand-held exercise device which provides both grip enhancement and leverage-enhanced weight training in the hand, arm and shoulder during use. This device comprises a coil spring-type gripping device having, detachably mounted thereon, one or more weights whereby the center of mass of the weight may be eccentric to the grip axis of the hand. As a single example, the device may include one elongated weight in a "gun-barrel" position, with performance of curls or other maneuvers of the arms--in conjunction with repetitive gripping and releasing of the handles--resulting in leverage-enhanced exercise. One or two of the present exercise devices may be used, with two devices being preferable for use during jogging or running.
