  • Patent number: 5400625
Abstract: A locking key ring for supporting keys and for preventing the unauthorized removal and duplication of the keys. The locking key ring carries identification and instructions to contact the identified party prior to copying the keys thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized duplication. The locking key ring comprises a cylinder lock assembly adapted to receive a shackle in the form of a key ring. Removal of the keys from the key ring is not permitted unless the lock cylinder releases the key ring. This is accomplished through use of an operating key which matingly engages the lock cylinder. The cylinder housing carries identifying inscription and instructions for a locksmith to receive authorization prior to making copies of the keys.

  • Patent number: 5325691
Abstract: The present invention relates to lock picking and decoding tools and a method of using the same. The lock decoding tools comprise a torquing tool, a picking tool, and decoding tools. The method comprises using the torquing tool to bias the locking bar out of a notch in the inner wall of the cylinder housing, picking the tumblers using the picking tool, turning the cylinder lock slightly so as to permit the torquing tool to be removed, turning the lock cylinder to the "ON" position, and decoding the cylinder lock using the decoding tools.

  • Patent number: 5297404
Abstract: The present invention is an improvement on an inner cylinder lock and more specifically, on the bolt thereof. The bolt engages an opening in the rear case of the inner cylinder lock. The improvement on the bolt prevents the bolt from moving in a lateral direction and restricts the travel of the bolt in a direction transverse to the lateral direction. This is accomplished by providing two generally rectangular projecting members, each of which extends from opposite sides of the bolt. The projecting members fit into accommodating channels which are disposed within the opening in the rear case. The bolt also has a cavity located in its rear. The purpose of the cavity is to receive a spring biased locking pin. The spring biased locking pin is located in the posterior wall of the rear case. During normal operation, the bolt is limited in its travel by a pin engages the bolt. The projecting members prevent lateral movement of the bolt.
