Abstract: A symmetrical disk-shaped spring having two or more symmetrical, spiral-shaped webs connecting inner and outer rings is disclosed. The webs are defined between symmetrical, spiral-shaped slots that extend between the inner and outer rings. The spiral-shaped webs apply axial forces when the inner and outer rings are displaced axially relative to the each other. The symmetrical disk-shaped spring is made by machining a flat, disk-shaped piece of material. The spiral-shaped slots are machined through the thickness of the material, leaving the spiral-shaped web material to connect the outer and inner rings.
