  • Patent number: 8393631
Abstract: A hitch assembly is provided that includes a body and a latch member that is movable relative to the body between an open position and a closed position for securing a hitch pin to the body. A locking pin is movable between a disengaged position and an engaged position for retaining the latch member in the closed position. An unlocking member is mounted to the latch member for movement between a retracted position and an extending position for preventing the locking pin from moving from the disengaged position to the engaged position.

  • Publication number: 20090062756
Abstract: A signaling device for garments is disclosed. The signaling devices, for instance, may be attached to an absorbent article containing a wetness sensing system. In particular, the signaling device may be configured to emit an audible and/or visible signal when a conductive fluid is sensed in the absorbent article. In accordance with the present disclosure, the signaling device is designed based upon anthropomorphic data so that the signaling device can fit within the small of the back of a wearer while minimizing discomfort. The signaling device can also be made from various materials that provide some protection to the internal components of the signaling device while also minimizing discomfort.

  • Patent number: 6010402
Abstract: An air diffuser with a series of parallel blades has an air deflector structure for reducing throw and promoting better air mixing near the diffuser, having support members diverging transversely from one another laterally outwardly. Each support member has a series of vanes that diverge transversely laterally outwardly and extend through inner and outer regions adjacent or between the blades. A vane may have a forwardly extending barb having a sharp apex projecting into a recess forwardly of an outer rear edge of a forwardly adjacent vane, for biting engagement with a blade, and the same or another vane may have an undercut portion projecting outwardly rearwardly beyond an inner edge portion of a rearwardly adjacent vane, for engaging under a blade for firmly locating the deflector structure relative to the blades.

  • Patent number: 4960250
Abstract: In an attitude control system for a spacecraft having a frame which is to be maintained in a desired orientation relative to a selected set of reference axes, which system includes an electromechanical actuator mechanically coupled to the spacecraft frame for applying to the frame a mechanical torque which opposes deviations from the desired orientation relative to at least one reference coordinate, the actuator including an electric motor and an element connected to be rotated by the motor, and a torque command signal generator connected to the motor for applying a torque command signal which is a function of such deviations and which drives the motor in a manner to control the torque being produced by the actuator, there is included an energy desaturating system composed of: a unit coupled to the element for producing a signal representative of element motion; a signal modifying circuit connected to produce a control signal having a magnitude which is a function of the signal representative of element motio

  • Patent number: 4589610
Abstract: A guided missile subsystem including a Kalmanized radar track loop driven by acceleration signals of the missile generated by an inertial measuring unit (IMU), and a missile control loop driven by estimates of the relative kinematics of the missile and target computed by the radar track loop is disclosed. The IMU driven Kalmanized radar track loop accommodates the use of a high performance radar, like a synthetic aperture radar, for example, which operates to measure radar data at a low rate on the order of 1 Hz, to generate estimates of relative target and missile kinematics to drive the control loop at rates compatible with high performance missile kinematics. The Kalmanized track loop effects an exchange of IMU errors for "dynamic lag" errors of conventional track loops which cannot be modeled very well, and can change very rapidly.

  • Patent number: 4493201
Abstract: A strong, seamless one-piece metal bottle of substantially uniform wall thickness for containing and dispensing gas under pressure is produced from a flat metal piece by a series of deep-drawing operations to provide an elongated cylindrical shell having an open end mouth and a slight flange thereabout. A dimple is formed in its bottom end wall. The flange and an adjacent cylindrical open end mouth portion of the shell is then severed from the main body, and the wall thickness of the new open end mouth portion is tapered from the cylindrical side wall of the shell towards its mouth edge. Thereafter, the tapered open mouth end portion is turned or swaged inwardly into a somewhat blunt, rounded-in nose portion of a substantially uniform thickness that substantially corresponds in the thickness to the side and bottom walls of the formed metal bottle and that has an open end of reduced size suitable for mounting a nipple, ferrule or valve fitting therein.
