  • Patent number: 7077153
Abstract: A side control faucet is provided with a separate diverter valve which is connected to a single outlet from the valve body. The diverter valve is connected to a spout and to an auxiliary water dispenser, such as a side spray or water filtration dispenser. The separate diverter assembly allows the use of a single valve body to be used for both side spray and non-side spray faucet models. The side control faucet design reduces the number of parts required for a side control valve body for a side control faucet.

  • Patent number: 6209153
Abstract: A quick-install mounting nut assembly for connecting a shank of a faucet to a deck with the shank having an enlarged upper portion disposed above the deck and a smaller diameter lower portion extending through an opening of the deck. A strap of the assembly is loosely disposed on the lower portion of the shank to be axially raised thereon. The strap has a pair of ears formed thereon with apertures therein. A pair of clips are connected to the ears of the strap and each has an aperture therein aligned with the apertures of the ears of the strap. Each of the clips has a clamping portion biased downwardly into engagement with the lower portion of the shank. A pair of fastener members are separately disposed through the apertures of the strap and the clips and are in threaded engagement with the clips. A pair of nuts are separately disposed upon the ears of the strap to be threadedly engaged by the fastener members.

  • Patent number: 6085784
Abstract: A quick connect hose assembly is provided for a widespread faucet including a spout and a pair of end bodies mounted to a deck at spaced locations from the spout. The quick connect hose assembly includes a T-connector slidably mounted on an end of a waterway tube connected to the spout. The T-connector includes a pair of serrated hose connecting portions. A pair of connector members are provided including a hollow body portion which slidably receives a bottom portion of the end bodies and an outwardly extending serrated hose connecting portion extending from the hollow body portion. A first hose is connected between the T-connector and one of the connector members and a second hose is connected between the T-connector and the other connector member.

  • Patent number: 5671776
Abstract: An end body 34 is formed with a chamber 45 having a bevelled surface 62 and a cylindrical wall 60 in a portion thereof. A sleeve 46 is formed with an outward flange 48 at one end thereof and an annular bead 50 near another end 54 thereof. The sleeve 46 is formed with a press fit section 56 between the end 54 and the bead 50 thereof. The sleeve 46 is inserted axially into the chamber 45 of the end body 34 and the section 56 thereof is press fit into the cylindrical wall 60 of the end body with the bead 50 locating on the bevelled surface 62 of the end body. A valve 44 is threadedly attached to an end 58 of the end body 34 whereby a seal 64 of the valve engages the flange 48 of the sleeve 46. Water enters the end body 34 at the bottom thereof and flows into an axial passage 49 of the sleeve 46. If valve 44 is closed, the water will not flow any further. If the valve 44 is open, water will flow through the sleeve 46, the valve, the chamber 45 and out of the end body 34 to other facilities.

  • Patent number: 5642755
Abstract: A faucet 30 includes a housing 32 having a base 34 and a spout 36. The base 34 and the spout 36 are each formed with an opening which communicate with each other to form an opening of the housing. A putty plate 54 is formed in a configuration similar to a configuration of the opening of the base 34. The putty plate is formed with a ledge 57 on which is formed a pair of spaced "L" shaped channels 80 and a locking tab 76 with a latch bar 78. A throat plate 104 is formed with a body 106 with a ledge 116 extending therefrom. The ledge 116 is formed with a pair of spaced tabs 118 and 120 extending from one side of the ledge and an elongated hole 122 formed in the ledge between the tabs. A pair of bosses 124 and 126 with holes 128 are formed in spaced portions of the body 106. The tabs 118 and 120 of the throat plate 104 are located in the channels 80 of the putty plate 54 and the latch bar 78 is located in the hole 122 to retain the throat plate with the putty plate as an assembly.

  • Patent number: 5566707
Abstract: A putty plate 30 is formed with an edge 32 in a continuous pattern to define the perimeter of the plate. A base wall of the putty plate 30 includes a floor 40 on one side of the plate 30 and a ceiling 78 on the other side of the plate. Holes 48, 60 and 62 are formed through the base wall. Four sets of ribs 52 are formed integrally from the floor 40 on the one side of the plate 30 while sets of ribs 84 are formed integrally from the ceiling 78 on the other side of the plate. Ribs 46 are formed about the holes 48 in a hexagonal configuration integrally from the floor 40 of the plate 30. Circular ribs 80 are formed about the holes 48 integrally from the ceiling 78 on the other side of the plate 30. A continuous groove 68 is formed in the base wall between the edge 32 and the ceiling 78 to define the perimeter of the ceiling. Two other putty plates 108 and 200 are formed with structure similar to the structure of the plate 30. The three putty plates 30, 108 and 200 are composed of a nylon material.
