  • Publication number: 20150187038
Abstract: Embodiments of the system support hospital operations, delivery of health care, and improve patient satisfaction. The interactive hospital information system utilizes inputs from a mobile device, eliminating the cost of fixed cameras and sensor systems in the hospital facility. Aspects of the invention facilitate real-time patient care and patient room updates by care providers, validating that prescribed devices, services, and setups are in place per protocol. The system communicates with rounding persons as to specific care management. Network devices, such as an iPadĀ® or smartphone, are utilized to monitor and record ongoing activities in the healthcare setting.

  • Patent number: 9018434
Abstract: Absorbent articles are disclosed that have been printed with active graphics alone or in combination with permanent graphics to create a wetness indicator. Different active graphic compositions and/or permanent graphic compositions are combined so as to make the wetness indicator very prominent on the article. In addition, when the absorbent article is wetted, the active graphics undergo a change that is easily noticed by the wearer or the caregiver for the wearer. In one embodiment, for instance, active graphics are positioned within a distinctive frame. The frame focuses a person's attention onto the active graphics. The active graphics fill most of the surface area of the frame such that when the absorbent article is wetted, a clearly noticeable change occurs.

  • Patent number: 9017954
Abstract: Certain disclosed embodiments of the present invention concern the synthesis, derivatization, conjugation to immunoglobulins and signal amplification based on discrete, relatively short polymers having plural reactive functional groups that react with plural molecules of interest. Reactive functional groups, such as hydrazides, may be derivatized with a variety of detectable labels, particularly haptens. The remaining reactive functional groups may be conjugated directly to a specific binding molecule, such as to the oxidized carbohydrate of the Fc region of the antibody. Disclosed conjugates display large signal amplification as compared to those based on molecules derivatized with single haptens, and are useful for assay methods, particularly multiplexed assays.

  • Patent number: 8988805
Abstract: A hard disc drive (HDD) of a larger native capacity is clipped to emulate a smaller capacity drive by allocating storage space in tracks in at least both a radially innermost region and radially outermost region of the platter(s). During normal operation, when data is written to or read from the clipped HDD, the actuator arm will move through its entire, normal range of motion, as the read/write heads seek tracks in both the radially inner and outer regions of the platter(s). In some embodiments, storage space is also allocated from tracks in regions interposed between the inner and outer regions. In one embodiment, all tracks on the platter(s) are divided into regions of substantially equal data storage capacity, and the storage space is allocated for the clipped HDD is divided substantially evenly across all the regions.

  • Publication number: 20150074535
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enhancing digital video effects (DVE) operates to embed DVE functionality within a graphics modeling system and provides the user with an interface configured to present model elements to a user as controllable parameters. In order to embed DVE functionality, a dynamic data structure is introduced as a scene to allow the addition of user defined model elements. The user interface enables the identification of, and access to the newly introduced model elements.

  • Publication number: 20140323336
Abstract: A method for performing a multiplexed diagnostic assay, such as for two or more different targets in a sample, is described. One embodiment comprised contacting the sample with two or more specific binding moieties that bind specifically to two or more different targets. The two or more specific binding moieties are conjugated to different haptens, and at least one of the haptens is an oxazole, a pyrazole, a thiazole, a nitroaryl compound other than dinitrophenyl, a benzofurazan, a triterpene, a urea, a thiourea, a rotenoid, a coumarin, a cyclolignan, a heterobiaryl, an azo aryl, or a benzodiazepine. The sample is contacted with two or more different anti-hapten antibodies that can be detected separately. The two or more different anti-hapten antibodies may be conjugated to different detectable labels.

  • Patent number: 8846063
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a personal care composition containing a carrier, an oil phase having at least one terpene alcohol component, an at least partially fluorinated compound, and a stabilizer. In an exemplary aspect, the at least partially fluorinated compound is stable within the composition of the present disclosure with the introduction of an oil phase having at least one terpene alcohol component to stabilize the at least partially fluorinated compound. Thus, the composition provides an initial foaming action and longer term skin benefits provided by an oil phase contacting a terpene alcohol component. A stabilizing component may also be included to provide further stability to the composition.
