Abstract: Merchants within close proximity to each other are “affiliated” with other by distance. A payment provider may debit an account of the first affiliated merchant the amount of the second purchase minus any amount due to the first affiliated merchant as a result of the second purchase. An account of the second affiliated merchant offering the incentive may be credited accordingly. The consumer and/or the affiliated merchant offering the incentive may be notified so that the consumer can simply go to the affiliated merchant to pick up the purchase, such as by showing proof of purchase or an identifier.
