Abstract: The present invention relates to tarnish inhibiting formulas. More particularly, in one embodiment the present invention relates to tarnish inhibiting formulas which comprise a mixture of: (i) at least one carrier; (ii) at least one strong alkali compound; and (iii) at least one compound which yields an insoluble compound. These mixtures can further include one or more additional additives such as antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, etc. In yet another embodiment, the tarnish inhibiting formulas (and in some cases corrosion inhibiting as well) according to the present invention can be placed in a suitable polymer film and/or polymer article.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems, devices or methods for preventing and/or reducing the occurrence of corrosion in a variety of articles including, but not limited to, tanks (e.g., storage tanks, septic tanks, fuel tanks, etc.); containers (e.g., shipping containers, storage containers, etc.); semi-closed systems (e.g., fuel systems, septic systems, reservoirs, etc.); and/or closed systems (e.g., waste disposal systems, waste disposal drums or containers, etc.). In another embodiment, the devices and/or methods of the present invention may be utilized to reduce and/or prevent corrosion in a variety of pipelines (e.g., gas/oil pipelines, water pipelines, sewage lines, etc.).

Abstract: Plastic articles having volatile corrosion inhibiting properties are described. The plastic articles comprise polyolefin polymer, an inorganic nitrite salt, a trisubstituted phenol and fumed silica.

Abstract: A persistent electric charge is introduced into melt-blown fibers during the melt-blowing process. When these charged fibers are incorporated into fibrous webs, they provide unique properties, including improved filtering properties.

Abstract: Water resistant sunscreening compositions are disclosed comprising a cosmetically-acceptable oil base, at least one water-insoluble ultraviolet light absorbing material which is soluble in the oil base, and a water insoluble acrylate polymer having a solubility parameter of 6 to 10 in weak hydrogen bonding solvents. The acrylate polymer serves to bind the ultraviolet light absorber to the skin and render it resistant to removal by water.
