  • Publication number: 20020145232
Abstract: A machine for casting radiation cured material with a mold set made of a clear, radiation cured material or other clear material, one or more radiation emitting devices preferably in the ultraviolet and visible range, a rotating mechanism to move the mold set from a horizontal or vertical load/unload position to vertical fill and cure position at the radiation devices, and one or more injection mechanisms attached to the mold set to fill the mold set and then seal at the part wall preventing cure of material in the line and resulting in a minimal gate mark. Alternatively the molds can be filled and then rotated before and during cure to create a hollow part.

  • Patent number: 5426308
Abstract: An ultraviolet curing device comprising a housing having a wave guide disposed within one end thereof. Disposed within the housing and reciprocally movable between focused and unfocused positions therewithin is a reflector member which is oriented relative the light source so as to be operable to reflect ultraviolet light from the light source to the wave guide. When the reflector member is in the focused position, ultraviolet light is reflected from the light source to the wave guide in a manner facilitating the passage of a desired frequency of the ultraviolet light through the wave guide. When the reflector member is in the unfocused position, ultraviolet light is reflected from the light source to the wave guide in a manner preventing the passage of the desired frequency of the ultraviolet light through the wave guide.

  • Patent number: 4573277
Abstract: Apparatus for ultraviolet light curing by photopolymerization of ultraviolet curable ink printings on the external surfaces of tubular articles, such as plastic, glass or metal bottles, jars or other containers. The tubular articles are placed in an upright position on a rotating disc in a housing which carries them through an ultraviolet radiation field emitted by an appropriate ultraviolet source, and reflected by specially shaped reflectors to provide intense ultraviolet radiation in the entire housing and thereby eliminating the need to stop and spin the articles in front of the ultraviolet source to achieve complete curing around the entire article. An elongated guide is mounted to extend partially across the upper surface of the table, and as the table rotates it serves to move the articles against the guide which causes them to rotate about their respective vertical axes so that the entire peripheral surface of each tubular article is exposed to the ultraviolet radiation.
