Abstract: An evaporative cooler has a housing with evaporative media at air inlets. A blower draws air into the inlets and through the media and then out an air outlet from the housing. A water pump in a water reservoir pumps water onto the media so that evaporation of the water cools the air being output by the blower. A timer is connected to the water pump to switch between ON operation that pumps water to the media and an OFF state in which the pump is not operated. The pump is cycled during operation of the cooler.

Abstract: A strainer for a water pump includes a bottom panel and an upwardly extending side panel forming a cavity. The base of the water pump is received within the cavity and is removably secured to the filter.

Abstract: A constant humidity evaporative wicking filter humidifier is disclosed as having a water reservoir tank for holding a supply of water. The water reservoir tank is mounted on a supporting base and is constructed to dispense water as needed into a catch basin formed in the supporting base. A wick element of predetermined height has its lower end positioned within the catch basin for absorbing water up into the wick element by capillary action. A motor driven fan is also mounted on the supporting base relative to the wick element for drawing air with increased humidity through the wick element for discharge from the humidifier into the surrounding atmosphere. The water reservoir tank includes a valve which is selectively responsive to the level of water in the catch basin for dispensing water from the water reservoir tank into the catch basin when the water in the catch basin is below a predetermined level.

Abstract: A heater assembly includes heating element for generating heat to warm a space to be heated. A heat sensor is provided sensing the temperature within the radiant heater assembly for automatically disabling the heater elements upon exposure of the sensor to temperature in excess of a predetermined threshold temperature. A tip-over switch is provided for disabling the heater elements in resonse to predetermined tilting movement of the radiant heater assembly relative to a normal upright position. Alert indicators are provided for indicating disablement of the heater elements upon actuation of either the heat sensor or tip-over switch.

Abstract: A heater assembly is supported by an electrical receptacle mounted in a wall. A cover supports an enclosed heater and a fan forces air into the cover to be discharged into a space. A mount directly supports the cover when mated with the receptacle. To maintain the assembly in position, a contact or leg is situated below the mount and receptacle.

Abstract: A radiant heater assembly is provided that includes heating element for generating heat radiantly to warm a space to be heated. The heater assembly includes a sensor for sensing temperature within the radiant heater assembly. An overheat control unit is provided for automatically disabling the heater elements upon exposure of the sensor to temperature in excess of a predetermined threshold temperature. Alert indicators are provided for indicating disablement of the heater elements upon actuation of the overheat control unit. A tip-over switch is provided for activating the alert indicators independent of actuation of the overheat control unit in response to predetermined tilting movement of the radiant heater assembly relative to a normal upright position.
