    Abstract: An apparatus for applying a pre-printed transfer to a substrate at an elevated temperature and under increased pressure is disclosed. The apparatus includes a framework, an enclosure containing a plurality of control mechanisms, a heated platen assembly, and an index mechanism. The heated platen assembly comprises a first member capable of vertical travel and a second member that is removable. The pre-printed transfer is positioned proximate the second member and the substrate is positioned proximate the first member. The index mechanism has at least a supply portion for holding a continuous web of pre-printed transfers and a collection portion for receiving the continuous web after the pre-printed transfer has been applied to the substrate. Also disclosed is a method of applying a pre-printed transfer to a desired substrate utilizing this apparatus.

    Abstract: Improved jitter performance is realized in a desynchronizer for obtaining an asynchronous digital signal, e.g., a DS3 signal, from a received synchronous digital signal, e.g., a SONET STS-1 signal. The improved jitter performance results from the use of a unique adaptive bit leaking arrangement in conjunction with a digital phase locked loop and synchronizing elastic store. An estimate of a bit leaking interval is adaptively obtained based on the intervals between a sequence of consecutive pointer adjustments in the received signal, i.e., the STS-1 signal. In one embodiment, the bit leaking interval estimate is obtained by employing a moving average of the intervals between the pointer adjustments. The desired bit leaking is effected by employing an accumulator which is responsive to the received pointer adjustments and a representation of the estimated bit leaking interval, in conjunction with a comparator.

    Abstract: Apparatus for collecting tickets cut from ticket stock, and for stacking these tickets in a horizontal array. Tickets are collected and oriented to stacking position by a vacuum transport belt assembly and uniformly aligned by a horizontal stacker. The transport assembly is mounted on a housing which includes a vacuum drum to maintain ticket engagement with the transport belts, as the belts traverse a path having a horizontal to vertical orientation about the top and front of the housing. The stacker is mounted perpendicular to the front base of the housing and incorporates a stacking belt extending the length of, and parallel to the base of the housing. The stacking belt is incremented in the stacking direction, in synchronization with a cutter. Stacker infeed disks are mounted on the transport terminus roller in a unitary arrangement which both releases tickets from the transport and feeds tickets to the stacker, to improve processing efficiency.
