  • Publication number: 20040010962
Abstract: The Beaver Barrier is a unique use of rubber and steel to form a barrier that will restrict where beavers build dams without harm to animals. The material is recycled tire parts woven together which forms a tube composed of connected rings which allow water to freely pass through but restricts animals from plugging or moving the natural course of the water. This unit prevents the animals from being able to dam the flow of water.

  • Patent number: 4946308
Abstract: An erosion-control matting and method for making the matting wherein the matting is used for controlling certain erosion conditions, particularly with respect to erosion of soil and sand by the action of water. The matting is formed by cutting a vehicle tire into a continuous elongated strip and attaching at least two strips together, end-to-end, to form a continuous length of rubber striping which is then wound onto a spool. A multiplicity of strip-loaded spools are positioned longitudinally so as to be received in a weaving machine, with a single spool being positioned to dispense a rubber strip transverse to the longitudinally disposed rubber strips, whereby the strips are woven to form an interwoven rubber matting, the configuration thereof being predetermined for the required use.

  • Patent number: 4270350
Abstract: An improved apparatus for converting solar energy to mechanical and electrical energy, in which refrigerant composition is alternately evaporated and condensed in a tubing by alternate exposure to heating rays of the sun, comprises two liquid containing reservoirs communicating with the tubing, valve means for alternately directing the evaporated refrigerant composition to displace the liquid from one reservoir to the other, and a pump driven by the liquid as it passes between the reservoirs.

  • Patent number: 3968652
Abstract: Apparatus responsive to solar energy for driving a self-contained gas turbine, whereby to produce mechanical or electrical power. Such apparatus is provided with a screen of a reflective nature and of a type to essentially focus the incoming rays of the sun onto a central window. A pair of serpentine coils are disposed rearwardly of the window and are constructed for alternate registry therewith. A gas turbine is operatively connected to and between the two coils. The rays of the sun are employed to heat the coils, alternately, so as to expand the gas or vapor therein, increasing the pressure thereof, for driving the turbine. The alternate heating of the coils produces opposite revolvement of the turbine, the output from which can be made uni-directional by conventional means. Water storage tanks and spraying means, with a cooling fan, can be employed for alternate daytime and nighttime usage.
