Patent number: 10398916Abstract: A fire suppression and annunciation system using a flexible conduit and a wire rope is provided. The wire rope may be connected to a knob assembly at a universal pull station and to a release mechanism of the fire suppression system. An operator may pull a handle of the knob assembly at the universal pull station, thereby activating the release mechanism to release fire suppression agent. A flexible conduit may house the wire rope along at least a part of the connection from the universal pull station to the release mechanism. A material on the liner of the flexible conduit and/or on the wire rope may be used to reduce the coefficient of friction of wire rope in the flexible conduit. The fire suppression system may further include a pulley block system connected to the universal pull station. The pulley block system may comprise bearings, and may lower the force necessary to activate the release mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2016Date of Patent: September 3, 2019Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LPInventors: Michael Walter Erva, Thomas Michael Halt, Jr., Donald Marvin Bjorkman, Brian Floyd Chernetski, Dorothy Ruohonen, Steven John Benda, Mark Neumann

Patent number: 8710847Abstract: DC offsets introduced in battery testing equipment are automatically compensated for using complementary current-mode servo feedback. An op amp receives and amplifies a response signal, while also introducing internal errors manifested in the amplified response signal. A correction circuitry coupled to receive the amplified response signal and comprising a balanced circuit with a positive input correction device and a negative input correction device to remove the DC bias. The correction circuitry further comprises an error sensing device to correct for the internal errors introduced by the op amp.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2011Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Inventors: Donald Marvin, John McHardy, Kurt Salloux

Patent number: 5944802Abstract: The present invention reduces the delay in the completion of transferring data from a data channel to an input/output device and the time a host unit is released from performing the data transfer function. A time reduction is realized by monitoring the current data transfer between the data channel and a buffer device to establish a transfer rate. The transfer rate is used to anticipate and coordinate the transfer of the last bit of data from the data channel to coincide with the receipt of the data by the input/output (I/O) unit, effectively eliminating buffer device delay and allowing the host unit to be released from performing the data transfer. In the preferred embodiment, the transfer of the last bit of data by the data channel occurs at substantially the same time as the last bit of data is received by the I/O unit.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Keith Anthony Bello, Donald Marvin Nordahl, Juan Antonio Yanes

Patent number: 5824222Abstract: Recycling apparatus for use in a closed-loop waste-treatment system includes components for removal of inert materials. Typically, the system includes a treatment vessel used in conjunction with a clarifier in an internal recycle configuration; clear water from the top of the clarifier is conducted away from the system as treated effluent, while a portion of the biomass settling at the bottom of the clarifier is returned to the head of the treatment vessel through a hydrocyclone and screen arrangement to remove inert content, thereby substantially increasing the efficiency of biological waste-digestion processes.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1997Date of Patent: October 20, 1998Assignee: Micronair, LLCInventors: Gene E. Keyser, Donald Marvin Holcombe
