  • Publication number: 20060043091
Abstract: A cap for a container is provided. The cap comprises a cap body having a bottom wall, a first dispensing aperture extending through the bottom wall, a second vent aperture extending through the bottom wall, and a seal positioned on the cap body and extending in the first and second apertures. A closure member is pivotally connected to the cap body and pivots between a first closed position and a second open position. The closure member has a stopper and a protuberance. In the first position the stopper engages the first seal in the dispensing aperture to close the dispensing aperture, and the protuberance engages the second seal about the second aperture to close the vent aperture.

  • Publication number: 20050046210
Abstract: An end openable handle structure is provided for association with an object, such as a container or the like. The handle structure includes an elongated arm for hand grasping, a leg for supporting the arm at one end, and a bridging link for extending between the other or open arm end and an object to which the leg is attached. One end of the bridging link is attached pivotably to either the open arm end or to the object. The other end of the bridging link either abuts against the other one of either the object or the open arm end, thereby closing the bridging link handle structure, or pivots to an spaced, gap defining position relative to the closed position. Stop means limits travel of the bridging link beyond the closed position, and spring biasing means yieldingly urges the bridging link into the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20050045634
Abstract: A removable and reusable cap for a container is provided. The cap has a platform portion and peripherally associated upstanding and downwardly extending portions, and a depression is defined across the platform portion. In the depression, a dispensing aperture and preferably a vent are defined which are opened and closed by a closure plate that is received within the depression and that has a proximal end which is pivotably associated with the depression. The distal end of the closure plate is pivotally associated with a pull ring that is biased into association with the closure plate and that is nestably received in the closure plate, but that has a finger associatable apex region. When the pull ring is pivoted upwardly, the closure plate is pivoted and the dispensing aperture and vent are opened, preferably the vent before the dispensing aperture.

  • Publication number: 20050046211
Abstract: An improved coffee press structure is provided wherein the container has transparent side wall portions that are associated with top and bottom caps and an intermediate cage structure. Upper and lower band portions of the cage structure are associated with a handle upper end portion and with a link member, respectively. The link member is pivotable relative to either the handle lower end portion or the lower band portion and is spring biased so that when in a normally closed position, the link member closes the gap between the handle lower end portion and the lower band portion. The press structure also provides two different embodiments of a plunger assembly for association with the container mouth. The plunger assembly embodiments both include a handle, a piston and a rod; and the plunger assembly can remain in place after brewing and during brew dispensing from the container.
