  • Publication number: 20140107554
Abstract: A method for treating plantar fasciitis and foot pain utilizes a pre-cut sole support strap and an arch support strap formed of flexible woven material having an adhesive layer on an underside surface that are adhered to a foot individually or in combination. The sole strap is adhered to the skin surface along the sole from the ball of the foot to the heel and the back and lateral sides of the heel, and provides stability and support to the foot and, when subjected to forces induced during walking, absorbs tensile loads and stresses to prevent damage to the plantar fascia by reducing tensile stress carried by the plantar fascia. The arch support strap is adhered transversely over the sole support strap and arch of the foot to maintain the sole support strap in engagement with the sole of the foot and provide additional support and stability.

  • Publication number: 20140107553
Abstract: An stretch resistant plantar fascia support system is provided. The stretch resistant plantar fascia support system is adhesively applied to the foot of a patient for providing relief from plantar fasciitis. A portion of the stretch resistant plantar fascia support system is adhesively attached to the bottom surface of the foot for reducing stress on the plantar fascia.

  • Publication number: 20130218060
Abstract: A support system for treatment of repetitive stress injuries. The support system uses a support layer formed from a thin, flexible, stretch resistant material. An adhesive is used that has a high shear strength to prevent the support layer from slipping when applied to the patient. The adhesive loses considerable adhesion as temperatures approach 125 degrees Fahrenheit. This allows the support system to be easily removed at temperatures within the comfort range of the user by soaking in hot water or use of a hair dryer. The system is applied to a wrist or other injury by securing around the wrist. A second portion of the support layer extends up to a portion of the back of the wrist. The user is able to move and flex the wrist through the full range of motion, however with a dampening effect which promotes neutral wrist postures and minimizes accumulative irridation to the median nerve.

  • Publication number: 20100293374
Abstract: A wireless secure authentication system for portable memory storage devices to prevent unauthorized transfer of stored data. The system includes a memory device such as a USB storage device that is capable of data storage. A wireless receiver and/or transmitter on the device receives and/or transmits an external signal from and/or to an external remote device, such as RFID card, bluetooth receiver, cellular telephone or any other wireless device. The device does not allow data to be accessed in the memory of the device until it receives an appropriate signal from the external device. Once the appropriate signal has been received, data transfer is allowed. In the event that the signal is lost, the data transfer is terminated and access to the data is not permitted. Examples of the system includes a USB memory device that requires a RFID card with an encrypted signal to be within a dedicated perimeter from the device.

  • Patent number: 7722369
Abstract: Lock devices for installation on a serial bus male connector plug that prevent access to, and connection of the plug to other devices, such as memory storage devices, have a housing with a receptacle which is installed onto the serial bus male connector plug to cover at least a portion of the male connector plug, and contain a locking mechanism and retaining member moveable between an unlocked position allowing disengagement and removal of the plug from the receptacle, and a locked position with plug securely engaged in the receptacle to prevent connection of the connector plug to a female serial bus connector of another device and unauthorized access to data stored in the memory of memory storage devices. The lock device may have a shackle and a cap-holding tether attachment and may be utilized with conventional security cables and locking devices to also prevent theft of the memory storage device.

  • Publication number: 20090042433
Abstract: Data connector plugs having an internal extensible and retractable cover and locking system and portable memory storage devices and data transfer cables equipped with the same have an internal extensible and retractable cover member which, in an extended and locked position, is disposed inside the case of the plug to at least partially occupy the void space adjacent to the metal contacts sufficient to physically prevent unauthorized connection with a mating connector and access and transfer of data and media, and in an unlocked retracted position exposes the electrical contacts to allow connection of the plug and electrical contacts with a mating connector for transferring data. The internal cover member may be sized to substantially fill the void space in a forward extended position to prevent damage to the contacts and ingress of dirt or debris.

  • Patent number: 7275941
Abstract: Lockable portable memory storage devices equipped with male connector plugs have a locking system that prevents access to, and connection of the connector to external devices, and thereby prevents unauthorized use of the device and access to data and/or media stored thereon. The locking system may be incorporated in portable memory devices having a cap or cover that fits over the end of the male plug, a connector plug that pivots relative to its cover or sheath, and devices having a connector plug that is extensible and retractable relative to its cover or sheath; and allows a locking device to be installed on the housing or sheath of the memory storage device, or between the housing and the cover, cap, or sheath that encloses or covers the connector to prevent exposure of the connector to an extent that would allow connection and use of the device.
