Abstract: A method of attaching a vehicle accessory such as a running board, to a vehicle for assisting in entry and exit from the vehicle as well as protecting the body of the vehicle is disclosed, comprising an accessory such as molded running board and/or substructure with a plurality of receiving zones for receiving the mounting arm brackets, and further comprising a means of securing the accessory to the bracket by means of deflectable locking tab and aperture configuration. The securing means of the present invention requires no additional hardware for its attachment, thereby simplifying the mounting procedure, reducing manufacturing costs, while providing a strong, secure mount.

Abstract: A vehicle light assembly is provided having a light source emitting light into a light pipe or tube extending along a portion of a vehicle. The light pipe casts light directly and uniformly upon a ground surface beneath a vehicle and/or a stepping surface of a running board, if such a running board is installed upon the vehicle, without directing excessive glare or light into the eyes of the user.

Abstract: A running board light assembly is provided having a light source emitting light into a light tube extending along the length of a running board. The light tube casts light directly and uniformly upon a stepping surface of the running board and upon a ground surface below the running board, without directing excessive glare or light into the eyes of the user.
