    Abstract: A tool for removing a stuck bit of a drilling device from the drilling medium in which it was being drilled is provided. The system generally comprises a frame, a hydraulic lift operably connected to the frame, and a lifting platform. Operating the hydraulic lifting device may cause a strut to move in a linear direction, which may cause the carriage to move in a linear direction. By moving the strut in linear direction such that the carriage extends beyond the length of the drilling device, the carriage may contact the drilling medium, which may cause a lifting force to be applied to the drilling device. A user may then use the carriage to move the drilling device to a new location.

    Abstract: An improved multiple segment baghouse filter, and a kit and method for replacing or repairing existing, damaged baghouse filters. Instead of removing and replacing the entire length of a damaged filter, a separate repair portion is spliced into the filter. A damaged bag section is removed, and the undamaged remainder is trimmed and folded. The kit has a spool-like splicing drum that forms a junction between the undamaged and damaged repair sections. The molded plastic splicing drum comprises a central, reduced diameter annular region from which a pair of diverging edge segments integrally extend. The outwardly flared wedge portions terminate in lips that aid in securing filter segment ends which are drawn over the lips and retained upon the wedge segments. The new filter design employs the splicing drums as original equipment, reducing the complexity and difficulty of subsequent filter repairs.

    Abstract: An apparatus for slitting baghouse filters from baghouse cages comprising a generally tubular cutting chamber having an inlet, an outlet and a plurality of angularly disposed conduits. A water knife for cutting the filtration bags, within the chamber, as the bags longitudinally pass therethrough is disposed in at least one of the conduits. The size and angle of the water knife is varied according to the material comprising the filter bag. The water knife can use any fluid but water is preferable. The water and tubular chamber act to suppress dispersion of material captured in the bag. The water contaminated with material carried by the bag can be directed to a proper disposal or collection area.

    Abstract: A Translational Press and Mandrel Apparatus for Straightening Baghouse cages. The mandrel is rigid, fixed, generally cylindrical and disposed generally horizontal to temporarily coaxially receive cages to be straightened. It has a closed generally rounded distal end for receiving the cage to be straightened. Also, the mandrel has a flange disposed on a proximal end to facilitate anchoring the mandrel to a relatively stable structure such as the trailer upon which it is transported. The translational press contacts and straightens the cages disposed on the mandrel. The press comprises a pair of hinged generally hemicylindrical dies adapted to be forced together to form a generally cylindrical form to compress the cage to the contours of the mandrel and joined dies. A carriage mounting the dies and compression means for forcing the dies together is slidably displaceable along the length of a track disposed below and generally parallel to the mandrel.

    Abstract: A baghouse filter bag installation system for installing new baghouse filter cartridge bags upon baghouse cages. The system comprises an elongated manifold adapted to coaxially receive a baghouse cage. The manifold comprises an elongated, generally cylindrical, hollow body, an open distal end and an open proximal end defining a flange. A compressor provides slightly pressurized high volume air to the proximal end of the manifold to inflate new bags fitted to the distal end of the manifold. Preferably the air supplied is warm. This softens the material of the bag making it more pliable, easing installation. A tuyere facilitates the fluid flow communication between the compressor and the manifold. The tuyere also makes it possible to employ a second manifold. The tuyere has at least one flange to mate with the manifold proximal end flange providing fluid flow communication between the compressor and at least one manifold. A cap is used to seal one of the tuyere flanges when not in use.

    Abstract: A Process and apparatus for rejuvenating baghouse filter cartridges. The first step in the process is passing cartridges from a baghouse through a cutting chamber, slitting the bags from the cages. The cutting chamber comprises a water knife angularly disposed in the wall of a tubular housing. The angle of the water knife and the size of the water knife's jet are varied according to the composition of the bags. The second step is repairing damaged cages. Bent cages are mounted upon a rigidly mounted mandrel and compressed between two hemicylindrical dies of a translational press. Broken welds on the cages are rewelded. In the last step new bags are installed on the cages. The cage is positioned over an open ended tubular manifold, and a new bag is started onto the end of the cage. Slightly pressurized, high volume, warm air pumped through the manifold inflates the bag, and the inflated bag is then pulled over the rest of the cage.
