  • Patent number: 5589769
Abstract: A member having a magnet attached is moveable along a path which has an array of magnetic field sensors adjacent the path. Each sensor provides a bipolar output signal as the magnet passes. A plurality of sensors provide a plurality of output signals for a first position of the magnet. Electronic means fit the plurality of output signals to a first curve having a crossover point to determine the first position.

Date of Patent: December 31, 1996
    Assignee: Honeywell Inc.
    Inventor: Donald R. Krahn
  • Patent number: 5351028
Abstract: A proximity sensor which has planar magnetoresistive elements lying in the plane of a radial magnetic field. The magnetoresistive elements arranged in a bridge configuration and are magnetically saturated by the radial magnetic field. The proximity sensor detects the approach of a ferromagnetic object by detecting movement of the effective center of the radial magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 5317251
Abstract: A peak current detecting and non-volatile storage device has a substrate having a hole. Individual magnetic field detecting elements are located on the substrate and are radially displaced from the hole. A conductor extends through the hole. The magnetic field detecting elements are magnetized to a predetermined state. Current carried by the conductor creates a magnetic field around the conductor which alters the predetermined state of magnetization of the magnetic field detecting devices. Various readout techniques may be used to determine the altered state of magnetization which is representative of the magnetic field and may be easily related to the current.

  • Patent number: 5247278
Abstract: A self-contained magnetic field sensing device which has magnetic field sensing elements arranged in an electrical bridge network. An integral electrical conductor spaced from the sensing elements carries a current for setting and resetting the direction of magnetization of the sensing elements. A known magnetic field useful for test set up and calibration is provided at the sensing elements by a second integral electrical conductor.
