  • Patent number: 7877372
Abstract: A method, computer program, and database system are disclosed for querying tables stored on multiple processing modules. The method includes specifying module group characteristics. A plurality of modules corresponding to the module group characteristics are then identified. The identified modules are sampled for statistics concerning at least one table specified in a query. An execution plan for the query is optimized based at least in part on the sampled statistics.

  • Patent number: 7765943
Abstract: A seed meter comprises a plastic casing defining a volumetric compartment and a singling compartment. The casing has three basic parts including the singling side, the volumetric side and the center portion. The basic parts are held together by integrally molded fastening assemblies. A slidable gate is mounted to two channels in the center portion for selectively directing seed into one of the two compartments. A metering drum having a volumetric section located in the volumetric compartment and a singling section located in the singling compartment is rotationally mounted to the casing. The metering drum is also plastic with each section comprising two identical pieces that can be mounted around a drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 7706487
Abstract: In training a SERDES, a Common Electrical Interface (CEI) training frame, having certain bits of information embedded therein, is transmitted over a path which comprises transmitter, channel, and receiver components. The present invention analyzes the resulting received signal and determines the effective aggregate channel impulse response of these three components. The invention then determines an estimate of the inverse of this aggregate channel and uses this determination to reduce distortions that have been introduced into a signal that has been transmitted over the path.
