    Abstract: A configurable clamp assembly for retaining pipe, conduit, cable bundles, waveguides and fiber optic cable that is designed for rapid installation without the need of pre-drilled holes or other mounting surface preparation. The clamp is formed by a saddle structure with integral rectangular flat base plate that receives interchangeable mounting pads and either a securing fastener or adhesive layer that secures the clamp to a mounting surface. A clamping yoke is hingedly secured to the saddle structure that is adapted to fold about the hinge to enclose and retain pipes, conduits or a Collar that engages an interchangeable Insert. The clamping yoke is fastened with a locknut that engages a threaded retaining post, locking the yoke to the saddle. The Insert is provided with various cross section geometries to secure waveguides, fiber optic cables and specially shaped tubing and is designed for insertion into the Collar for special applications.

In the at least one subsequent stage a content of titanium is adjusted which is higher than in the initial stage by 35 to 110 ppm. For generating the vacuum in the polycondensation and in the precondensation, there are used vapor jet pumps operated with TMG vapor.

    Abstract: An improved process for the polymerization of polytrimethylene terephthalate by esterification of terephthalic acid or dimethylterephthalate with 1,3-propanediol (PDO), precondensation of the esterification product to produce a precondensation product, and polycondensation of the precondensation product to produce polytrimethylene terephthalate wherein excess PDO is removed from the esterification and/or polycondensation stages and PDO vapor is separated from the high boiling fraction (solid byproduct). The improvement comprises: (a) heating the solid byproduct in the presence of about 5 ppm to about 5000 ppm, based on metal, of a metal catalyst selected from the group consisting of one or more 3rd, 4th, or 5th row metal compounds from Groups 3-12 and Groups 14-15 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC 1989) at a temperature of from about 100° C. to about 240° C.

    Abstract: This invention is an improvement upon the known process for polymerization of polytrimethylene terephthalate by esterification of terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate with 1,3-propane diol, precondensation of the esterification product to produce a precondensation product, and polycondensation of the precondensation product to produce polytrimethylene terephthalate and, optionally, solid stating of this product to produce higher intrinsic viscosity polytrimethylene terephthalate. The cyclic dimer of terephthalic acid and 1,3-propane diol is produced as a byproduct of the above process and the improvement comprises (a) recovering the cyclic dimer from the polymerization, (b) reacting from 0.5 to 25 percent by weight of the cyclic dimer in 1,3-propane diol in the presence of from 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of the cyclic dimer of a basic catalyst for five minutes to 24 hours at 50 to 210° C.
