Abstract: A method of conducting an assay for a set of targets, the method comprising: providing a set of targets; subjecting each target of the set of targets to a recognition event, in which each target is uniquely recognized by and bound to a recognition element associated with a code from a set of codes, thereby yielding a set of coded targets comprising the target and the recognition element; subjecting each recognition element of the set of coded targets to a transformation event, in which a molecular transformation of each recognition element produces a modified recognition element, thereby yielding a set of modified recognition elements comprising the code; subjecting each code of the set of modified recognition elements to an amplifying event, in which each code is amplified, thereby yielding a set of amplified codes; subjecting each amplified code of the set of amplified codes to a detection event, thereby determining the nucleic acid sequence of the code.

Abstract: A power saw assembly including a base plate and having a powered blade assembly including a saw blade attached to the upper surface of the base plate. The powered blade assembly has at least one operating position for cutting material wherein the saw blade extends at least partially through a slot in said base plate. The power saw assembly further includes a fence assembly swivelable about a substantially vertical axis from a first position allowing the saw blade to cut through a piece of material at an angle of 90 degrees with respect to the length of the material, to other positions allowing the saw blade to cut through the material at angles other than 90 degrees with respect to the length of the material. The fence assembly is securable to the base plate at any position by clamping the fence assembly against the upper and lower surfaces of the base plate.

The hub device includes voice hardware for processing voice signals, data hardware for processing data signals, and combining hardware for combining and separating voice signals and data signals in the hub device. A remote access point device for transceiving signals with customer equipment includes voice hardware for processing voice signals, data hardware for processing data signals, and combining hardware for combining and separating voice signals and data signals in the remote access point. An optical fiber system is coupled between the hub device and the remote access point device and is operable for modulating and demodulating the combined voice and data signals for communicating between the hub device and remote access point device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for defining rules in a general-purpose rules engine and applying those rules to the rating of usage records, optionally using external data sets, without reprogramming the engine. Available inputs, data sets, and required outputs are defined and rules are entered into a spreadsheet. The rules are extracted and compiled, then executed. The method and apparatus are applicable to any service that requires billing or other business response based on customer usage of the service(s).
