  • Patent number: 4006440
Abstract: A contactor includes an actuator which is slidably mounted to a base and carries a set of movable contacts into engagement with a set of stationary contacts when an associated electromagnet is energized. The stationary contacts are located above the electromagnet and are connected to a set of contactor input terminals and a first set of contactor output terminals which extend through the top of the contact enclosure. A second set of contactor output terminals are mounted to the base below the electromagnet where they are easily connected to overload relays. A set of bus bars are mounted to the base and connect the first and second set of contactor output terminals.

  • Patent number: 3962658
Abstract: The number of poles on an electromagnetically operated contactor is increased by mounting one or two power pole modules to its sides. Each power pole module includes a housing which encloses a set of main line contacts that are coupled to the contactor for operation by its slidably mounted actuator. Flexible fastening elements on the power pole module mate with corresponding mounting elements formed on each side of the contactor to facilitate attachment of the module. Symmetrical loading on the contactor actuator is maintained by mounting power pole modules on each side of the contactor, or by using in place of one of them, a load balancer cartridge which simulates the loading of a module.

  • Patent number: 3949333
Abstract: One or more sets of auxiliary contacts are contained within a cartridge which mounts to the side of an electromagnetic contactor. The cartridge snaps into position and is firmly supported at each of its ends. A cam member slidably mounts to the cartridge and couples to the contactor actuator. It includes a sloping cam surface which engages a cam follower pivotally mounted within the cartridge and translates the sliding motion of the contactor actuator into a pivotal motion which operates the auxiliary contacts.
