  • Patent number: 5674337
Abstract: A smooth, seamless arcuate-shaped inside corner is formed between a counter top and a splash board, both made from a filled polymer material. The counter top has a top surface, while the splash board has an end edge orthogonal to a front surface. The two articles are joined to form a butt joint therebetween, and a bead of a filled epoxy material is formed along the inside corner of the butt joint. A smoothing tool, which has a smoothing surface of the desired curvature, is used to smooth the bead. When cured, the bead matches the color and texture of the two articles and provides a smooth, seamless, arcuate-shaped inside corner. The filled epoxy comprises an epoxy resin and a hardener in a ratio of about 2:1 resin:hardener, together with a filler and/or a colorant. The filler comprises a mixture of alumina trihydrate and particulates in a ratio within the range of about 75:25 to 25:75 alumina trihydrate:particulates.

  • Patent number: 4953865
Abstract: A putt practice device includes an elongated, thin, planar base having a carpeted upper surface, a putting end, and a target end. A pair of spaced rows of pegs extend upwardly from the planar base. Caps consisting of cut off golf tees having holes drilled into their lower ends are placed on the two rows of pegs, defining a putting path along which a sufficiently accurately putted golf ball can roll without touching any of the modified golf tees on either side. A removable ball stop is attached to a pair of the pegs at the target end of the putt practice device. The putt practice device also can be utilized on a putting green by removing the ball stop, and aiming the longitudinal axis of the putt practice device toward a hole on the putting green. If the surface of the putting green is sloped, the orientation of the practice putting device can be aimed to one side or the other of the target hole to compensate for slope in the putting green surface.

  • Patent number: 4952101
Abstract: A number of drill guides are provided for quickly setting up to drill construction holes, door handle holes, hinge holes, and drawer front panel attachment holes for construction of cabinets without excessive jigging setup time. Several tools are described for quickly squaring up cabinet panels and clamping them together while glue dries.

  • Patent number: 4386457
Abstract: A device for removing a surgical blade from a scalpel handle includes a housing having an aperture. A surgical blade attached to a boss of the handle is inserted into the aperture. The boss is pressed downward into a narrow notch in the wall surrounding the aperture so that the edges of the notch engage the shank of the blade, preventing it from being moved into the notch with the boss and separating the shank of the blade from the rear portion of the boss. Two spring loaded pinch members extend from within the aperture so that they can be pinched together by the fingers of a user and engage the opposed edges of the blade, preventing it from moving as the handle is pulled away from the blade, causing the boss to become disengaged from the blade and withdrawn from an elongated hole in the shank of the blade. When the pinch members are released, the blade falls to the bottom of the interior of the housing, which serves as a receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4333288
Abstract: A beveled edge trim structure for counters, such as kitchen counters, includes a beveled inlay groove cut along an edge of the counter. A laminate inlay strip is adhesively bonded in the inlay groove. A first router tool includes guide surfaces which guide a first high speed cutting element along straight and rounded edges of the counter, cutting beveled inlay grooves along the edges. For right angle corners, a jig is attached to a partially installed inlay strip after alignment of a pair of inclined guide edges of the jig with corresponding inclined end edges of the beveled inlay groove. A second routing tool is guided along the inclined guide edges of the jig, cutting a beveled pointed end on the inlay strip. The beveled pointed end is aligned with the corresponding edges of the corner inlay groove.
