  • Patent number: 4216282
Abstract: A process for reproducing graphic information wherein a magnetic image is formed in a premagnetized layer of acicular chromium dioxide by heating the chromium dioxide selectively to above its Curie point. Ferromagnetic toner particles are then applied uniformly to the chromium dioxide layer, so as to adhere only in the magnetized areas. The toner particles are electrostatically transferred to a substrate and fused into position. Alternating current coronas or other static neutralizing devices are used to neutralize unwanted charges on toner particles which would otherwise cause fuzzy images and unwanted background markings on the final copies.

  • Patent number: 4195303
Abstract: Magnetic printing process, and apparatus for carrying out same, comprising:(a) forming a magnetic image on a ferromagnetic material which is imposed on an electrically conductive support;(b) developing the magnetic image by decorating same with a ferromagnetic toner comprising a ferromagnetic component and a resin which substantially encapsulates the ferromagnetic component; and(c) transferring the developed image to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 4191961
Abstract: Magnetic printing process, and apparatus for carrying out same, comprising:(a) forming a magnetic image on a ferromagnetic material which is imposed on an electrically conductive support and subjecting the ferromagnetic material to the action of a static neutralizing means;(b) developing the magnetic image by decorating same with a ferromagnetic toner comprising a ferromagnetic component and a resin which substantially encapsulates the ferromagnetic component; and(c) transferring the developed image to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 4185130
Abstract: A magnetic image decorator is disclosed wherein two or more rotatable cylindrical magnetic augers disposed in a sump of magnetically attractable toner are used in conjunction with cooperating knife blades to decorate a surface containing a latent magnetic image and to distribute and redistribute toner particles to maintain a level sump.

  • Patent number: 4161142
Abstract: A blasting booster comprises a rigid tube filled with a mixture, by weight, of about: 60% to 80% ammonium nitrate prills ground through a 1/16" screen; 12% to 35% whole ammonium nitrate prills and 3% to 8% diesel oil. Preferably the mixture includes about 0.4% to 10% aluminum fuel and the weight ratio of ground to whole prills is about 4 to 1. In use the booster tube is plastic lined and is placed in the bottom of a bore hole which is filled with AN-FO or an appropriate blasting agent. A one-pound cast primer on top of the booster is detonated to initiate the booster and the AN-FO, whereby detonation velocities and pressures in excess of non-boosted AN-FO, for example, are achieved in the critical bottom three feet of the bore hole. Bore hole patterns, where the booster is used, are expanded over tighter patterns required for non-boosted AN-FO alone, and drilling costs are significantly reduced.

  • Patent number: 3961622
Abstract: The method of taking a blood sample utilizes a cannula having a penetrating point at its distal end and an elongate lateral opening through the cannula wall on the side opposite the point. The steps of the method include sealing the lateral opening with a slidable sleeve which has an outwardly-extending base, sealing the base against the patient's skin, aligning the cannula with a blood vessel and inserting the cannula to a depth sufficient to pierce the blood vessel, and applying a slight vacuum on the cannula to withdraw blood therethrough.
