  • Patent number: 8308011
Abstract: A yoke type quick opening closure is provided. A torque bolt shares loads of the yoke with a drawbolt, and a separate safety bolt is provided. A common wrench interface feature is also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 29, 2008
Date of Patent: November 13, 2012
    Assignee: Perry Equipment Corporation
Inventors: Firdosh Mehta, Donald W. Ray
  • Patent number: 8297463
Abstract: A closure is shown for an equipment sub. A closure door is carried by a sub body and movable thereto between open and closed positions for providing access to a pressure vessel. Various improvements are disclosed including a new mechanism for positioning wedge shaped arcuate segments between the door and the sub body, a retainer mechanism for guiding movement of cross bars, a split hinge adjustment mechanism for adjusting planarity and concentricity between the closure door and the sub body, an increased annular wall body thickness region surrounding the sealing surface for reducing warpage during welding, a pressure lock rod member which also engages a combination of cross bars and a crank for driving the cross bars, and a pry bar that can facilitate better manually operated leveraging of the closure door.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 2008
Date of Patent: October 30, 2012
    Assignee: Perry Equipment Corporation
Inventors: James G. McQuaid, Donald W. Ray, Firdosh Mehta P E

  • Patent number: 5452895
Abstract: A spherical puzzle that consists of eight five-sided pieces and thirty six-sided pieces which are connected by means of a locking rail system that allows all of the pieces to be shiftable around the three equatorial planes of the puzzle. This allows various color patterns to be placed on the surface of the sphere which can be scrambled and then rearranged in predetermined patterns. Also, the puzzle is hollow and can be opened if the pieces are arranged in the correct order.

  • Patent number: 5242185
Abstract: A shallow nose platform trailer provides improved load carrying capability due to its reduced platform height and thus increased volume capability. The trailer includes a pair of parallel, longitudinal main I-beams and a pair of channel beam side rails defining a height of about three and one-half inches (89 mm) at the forward portion of the trailer adjacent the kingpin. The webs and lower flanges of the I-beams curve downwardly to the rear and define a height of approximately twenty-five inches (635 mm) along the central and rear portion of the trailer. An apron plate extending between the forward portions of the I-beams carries and disperses the forces imposed on the trailer and longitudinal I-beams by the kingpin and fifth wheel. The apron plate defines a V-shaped notch at its rear. A plurality of transverse beams support a deck having an upper surface flush with the longitudinal I-beams and side rails.
