    Abstract: An apparatus is provided for detecting metal debris particles in a fluid flowing in machinery. The apparatus is adapted to be installed in machinery and has a grid means of electrically insulating material provided with openings of a first type and a second type respectively to allow fluid passage therethrough. Each opening is conductively connected to electric means adapted to provide an electric signal when a conducting particle of metal debris having a predetermined size is trapped in or across any of the openings.
