    Abstract: Disclosed are a drain device having a drain filter, which causes foreign substances contained in washing water to be effectively filtered out by a filter chamber to prevent the foreign substances from flowing into a pump chamber, and allows the washing water to smoothly flow in the filter chamber to use the drain filter for a long time, and a washing machine having the same. The washing machine includes a housing provided with a washing chamber; and a drain device including a filter chamber provided with a filter member installed therein filtering out foreign substances from washing water in the washing chamber, and a pump chamber connected to the filter chamber to forcibly discharge the washing water. The filter member has a sectional area gradually increased toward the pump chamber and is provided with an end terminal separated from an inlet of the pump chamber by a designated distance.

    Abstract: A bread maker comprising: a main body; an oven having a surface coated with a ceramic material, and being accommodated in the main body; a door provided in a front of the main body to open and close the oven; and upper heaters and lower heaters respectively disposed in upper and lower parts of the oven and the door. The oven is coated with a ceramic material so that an inner surface of the oven does not become deformed due to a high temperatures, and so that an inner surface of the oven that is stained or coated with bread ingredients can be easily cleaned. The upper heaters are inclined downward, thereby enhancing heating efficiency. Further, the oven components are detachable so that a damaged part of the oven can be separately replaced.

The bread maker includes a door sensor sensing whether the door is open or closed; and a controller controlling the drum driver and the heater driver to suspend the kneading drum and the heater, respectively, when the door sensor senses that the door is open. With this configuration, the bread maker and a method of controlling the same, suspends heaters and kneading drums when a door is open while the bread maker operates, thereby increasing safety and decreasing loss of heat and electrical energy.

The bottom of the oven includes a protuberant part that minimizes the effects of an external force.

Accordingly, the shock absorber between the guide and the tray holder member prevents the tray holder member from minute movement while placed in the guide.
