    Abstract: In the present invention, sealing tape is wrapped around the outer circumferential surface of an introduced mold, and a monomer solution is injected into a cavity formed therein, wherein the injection amount of the monomer solution can be precisely controlled by using a vision recognition system. According to a preferable embodiment, a monomer solution of a monomer solution tank is suctioned, in advance, into a syringe capable of adjusting a capacity corresponding to a mold; most of the monomer solution, which has been injected into the syringe, is firstly injected into the mold at a high injection flow rate or injection speed; while the residual amount of the monomer solution is secondly injected at a reduced injection flow rate or injection speed, it is finally confirmed, by using a vision recognition system, whether the monomer solution is filled in the mold; and then injection is finished.

    Abstract: A method for producing 3-mercaptopropionic acid and methods using same for producing a carbonic acid ester compound having a mercapto group and a thiourethane-based optical material. The present invention improves a process during the production of 3-mercaptopropionic acid, significantly increases yield, and reduces the temperature and time during vacuum distillation, thereby preventing the destruction of a product and significantly increasing productivity. The present invention allows high-purity 3-mercaptopropionic acid having an excellent color to be finally yielded; accordingly, by using same, a high-purity carbonic acid ester compound having an excellent color and a mercapto group can be inexpensively obtained. A thiourethane-based polymeric composition and a thiourethane-based optical material obtained by polymerizing same can likewise be inexpensively obtained by using said carbonic acid ester compound.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing a high-quality thiourethane-based optical material using a general-purpose polyisocyanate compound. According to the method, the pH of a polythiol compound is adjusted to 3.1 to 7 to prevent the occurrence of whitening, which is a problem of the prior art arising from the dissolution of a pressure-sensitive adhesive from a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape upon lens casting. The pH adjustment increases the reaction rate of a resin composition including the polythiol compound. The use of the polythiol compound whose pH is adjusted enables the production of a thiourethane-based optical material that does not suffer from whitening at the edges of the optical lens and nonuniformity polymerization. Further disclosed are a resin composition for a thiourethane-based optical material, and an optical material including a resin produced by the method.
