  • Patent number: 6501460
Abstract: A light-receiving unit which is simplified by dispensing with a case or a lens and thus improved in manufacturing efficiency and lowered in manufacturing cost is disclosed. The light-receiving unit comprises: a lens for converging light, which is emitted from a light source and then reflected from a contacting object, in which the light carries an image formed on the contacting object; a printed circuit board having a light hole for allowing the light converged by the lens to be passed therethrough; and a molding package made by molding lead frames electrically connected to the printed circuit board and an optical sensor bonded to the lead frames with transparent resin, which is adapted to detect the image carried in the converged light.

  • Patent number: 5748356
Abstract: An optical scanning apparatus has an F-.theta. function with one aspherical lens having a toric configuration that compensates for the vibration of a rotating polygon mirror. The optical scanning apparatus includes a laser diode as the source of light, a collimator lens, a compound prism, a rotating polygon mirror, and a scanning lens system. The compound prism is located between the rotating polygon mirror and the laser diode so that the laser diode and an optical axis form a right angle. The scanning lens is composed of one lens with magnification in mainscanning/subscanning directions. With such a construction, by providing an F-.theta. function and compensating for the vigration of the rotating polygon mirror, the number of lenses is mnimized, the manufacture and assembly/adjustment of the lens are simplified, and the number of manufacturing steps can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5640265
Abstract: This invention discloses an optical scanning apparatus which gives an F-.theta. function by means of an axis-symmetric aspherical lens serving as a scanning lens and facilitates the manufacture, assembly and adjustment of the lens by providing a cylindrical lens between a rotating polygon mirror and the axis-symmetric aspherical lens. According to this invention, two lenses which may be injection moulded and use plastic material form an optical scanning system. The cylindrical lens of these two lenses is located between the rotating polygon mirror and the scanning lens for image-forming light in the subscanning direction, the scanning lens of these two lenses is located between the cylindrical lens and the image formation plane for image-forming light in the mainscanning direction. Also, magnification of the mainscanning direction and that of the subscanning direction are independent.
