    Abstract: Systems and methods for domain generalization configured in accordance with some embodiments of the invention are illustrated. One embodiment includes a method for domain generalization of a machine learning model. The method sets a parameter of a first model and a parameter of a second model based on a pre-trained model. The method learns the second model by performing a predetermined task on a source domain. The method estimates an unobservable gradient for model updates on an unseen domain based on: the parameter of the first model, and the parameter of the second model. The method updates the first model based on the estimated unobservable gradient.

The broadcast receiving apparatus includes a sensor to detect variation in an inputted alternating current (AC) voltage and outputting a direct current (DC) voltage corresponding to the detection result, and a controller to detect variation in currents based on a digital voltage corresponding to the DC voltage and to determine the on/off state of an external apparatus, connected to the broadcast receiving apparatus, according to the detection result of the controller. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether the external apparatus is switched on or off according to a variation in power supplied to the external apparatus, to cut off a power supplied to the external apparatus based on the determination result, and to selectively control a power supplied to components of the broadcast receiving apparatus based on power saving data.

In accordance with the apparatus for recording the multimedia data, in the case where there is no need to record the video data with high quality, it is possible to increase the recording time of the multimedia data by reducing the data amount of the video signal using a variety of compression methods when the multimedia data is recorded in a storage device.

    Abstract: A video signal descrambling apparatus capable of restoring a scrambled video signal transmitted from a cable television or commercial broadcasting system to the original standard video signal to permit subscribers to enjoy the scrambled signal and to provide a selective video service to the subscribers. According to the apparatus, a sync signal and information data are separated from the scrambled video signal, and control signals are generated based on the separated sync signal and the data. The artificial sync signal inserted in the scrambled video signal is removed in accordance with the control signal, and the attenuated sync signal in the scrambled video signal is restored to the original sync signal, so that the descrambling of the scrambled video signal is completed.

The scrambling apparatus scrambles the video signal in such a manner that a predetermined period of a sync signal is selectively inverted and attenuated, and then an artificial sync signal is inserted into the video signal in which the sync signal is inverted and attenuated, causing the horizontal sync period to be irregular.
