  • Publication number: 20090161640
Abstract: A wireless access router for separately controlling a traffic signal and a control signal is provided. In a mobile communication access network structure, in order to optimally support a mobile communication terminal, a control signal and a traffic signal of a base station are divided, and a router is controlled by mobile communication system functions such as a mobility management function, a QoS management function, a session control of the terminal, a mobility control, and a QoS control function that are effectively processed. With a wireless access router having the divided control signal and traffic signal, it is expected the traffic concentration and a packet transmission delay can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20090157290
Abstract: A system for providing fuel-efficient driving information for a vehicle includes a fuel-efficient driving area calculation unit and a display unit. The fuel-efficient driving area calculation unit calculates a variable fuel-efficient driving area, which is divided into economical, semi-economical, and uneconomical regions, depending on the increase or decrease of the speed of the vehicle, calculates a current fuel efficiency of the vehicle, receives information about the type and condition of a road from a GPS, and adjusts the regions in the fuel-efficient driving area to prompt the driver to increase or decrease the vehicle speed in advance. The display unit displays the fuel-efficient driving area using information calculated by the fuel-efficient driving area calculation unit, and indicates the current fuel efficiency using the regions.

  • Publication number: 20080069086
Abstract: The present invention relates to an internet protocol (IP) mobile communication system and a session initiation method thereof. In the IP mobile communication system, a session initiation process using a session initiation protocol is performed for real-time mobile multimedia communication. At this time, not only multimedia codec but also session and quality of service (QoS) information is negotiated from a transmitting terminal to a receiving terminal, and is negotiated between relating network elements. An access manager controls a mobile access router which is a gateway of an access network according to the negotiated session and QoS information. Therefore an additional QoS negotiation process is not necessary for a session guaranteeing the QoS between a terminal and the mobile access router, between the mobile access routers, and between the mobile access router and the receiving terminal.

  • Publication number: 20020080738
Abstract: A high speed handoff in a packet mobile communication network is disclosed. A packet radio communication network for providing a packet data service such as the internet in the IMT-2000 is being developed in many countries of the world. In this context, a network constitution, functions for respective constituents and a service providing procedure are disclosed for PN-4286. In the PN-4286, however, the conventionally proposed packet handoff procedure is based on the assumption of a simple data service. Therefore, a high speed handoff cannot be supported unlike in the line network, due to the re-setting of the link levels, the user certification and the IP registration of the packet terminal. This makes the real time service difficult in the packet network, and therefore, the use of the mobile packet network is limited to the simple data service. The present invention solves these problems by proposing a new handoff procedure.

  • Publication number: 20010042095
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for providing a chat service, which enables a user of a mobile terminal to search for another user meeting some specified requisites for a chat partner and to virtually talk with him/her, the system including: a mobile communication system being in radio communication with the mobile terminal; a chat server connected to a network for providing the chat service; and a radio operator gateway for switching different data and protocols between the mobile communication system and the network. The chat server includes personal information and requisite information of at least one member. Upon a request of the user of the mobile terminal for the chat service, the system searches for a member meeting the requisites of the user for a chat partner based on the personal information of the individual members, compares the requisite information of the user with that of the searched member to select a chat partner and enables the user to virtually talk with the selected chat partner.

  • Patent number: 5708657
Abstract: A base station controller interface of the code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile system is described for interfacing between the base station controller and the CDMA mobile switching center (MSC) of the CDMA mobile system (CMS). The base station controller decreases the load of the system by including, for every base station controller interface, the mobile announcement (MANM) to service the state information of the subscriber of interest for all paging to the mobile subscriber. At the same time, the connection between the base station controller and the base station controller interface of the mobile switching center utilizes the EL 2048 Kbps interfacing technique applying the conventional communication network recommended in the ITU-T. The transmission of the message and the call traffic using the interfacing technique is performed to be linked with the TSB of the base station controller.
