    Abstract: An engine operation control apparatus and engine operation control method of a vehicle are provided. The engine operation control apparatus includes a coolant temperature sensor that detects a coolant temperature of a coolant line which passes through an engine. Further, the apparatus includes first and second maps in which corresponding engine operating points are mapped to a vehicle speed, a gear stage, a driver requesting torque, and an electric field load amount of the vehicle. A controller determines a candidate operating point using any one of the first and second maps based on a comparison between the coolant temperature and a predetermined threshold value and determines an optimal operating point of the engine using the candidate operating point.

    Abstract: A method for controlling an output of an LDC converter of a vehicle is provided. The LDC charges and discharges an auxiliary battery supplying power to an electronic load using a high voltage battery for driving the vehicle. The method includes predicting a driving event of a front section of the vehicle based on driving route information and a SOC of the auxiliary battery in a driving event before the driving event of the front section of the vehicle. Output voltage of the low voltage DC-DC converter is converted and output to the electronic load or the auxiliary battery based on a comparison result between a current SOC of the auxiliary battery and the predicted SOC of the auxiliary battery. The predicted SOC is determined by a charge time of when a brake or accelerator pedal is engaged before the driving event of the front section of the vehicle.

    Abstract: A system and method for controlling a low-voltage DC-DC converter (LDC) voltage of a hybrid vehicle are provided. The LDC voltage is optimally adjusted based on which driving mode the vehicle enters, thereby improving fuel efficiency. The method includes determining whether the hybrid vehicle is driven in a regenerative braking mode and whether a value of a state of charge (SOC) of an auxiliary battery is equal to or greater than a first critical value set as a value when charging of the auxiliary battery is unnecessary during the driving in the regenerative braking mode. When the value of the SOC of the auxiliary battery is equal to or greater than the predetermined first critical value, the driving mode is switched from the regenerative braking mode to an electric vehicle (EV) mode, and to variably adjust an LDC target voltage in the EV mode.

Accordingly, the fuel efficiency mode for artificially turning off the PWM control of the LDC is added, so that when the fuel efficiency mode is performed, power of an auxiliary battery is temporarily supplied to an electric field load, thereby reducing power consumption of a main battery and improving fuel efficiency. Further, when the auxiliary battery is separated, power of the main battery is temporarily supplied to the electric field load by performing the PWM control of the LDC, to prevent a phenomenon that power is not supplied to the electric field load when the auxiliary battery is separated.

    Abstract: An oil pump includes a pump housing comprising an oil input port formed at one side of the pump housing. An oil output port is formed at another side of the pump housing. An oil flow unit is provided at a center of the pump housing, and the oil flow unit compresses and discharges oil input from the oil input port toward the oil output port. A bypass passage circulates the oil from the oil output port to the oil input port. A pressure control chamber allows the oil to flow through the oil output port and the bypass passage. The pressure control chamber has a plunger that is supported by an elastic body and moves in accordance with oil pressure. A bypass hole is formed at one side of the pressure control chamber and allows the oil passing through the oil output port to flow to the bypass passage when the plunger moves due to the oil pressure. The amount of oil flow increases depending on a movement distance of the plunger.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a torsional extreme-plastic processing method. In other words, a processing method in which severe plastic deformation based on torsion and compressive force is applied to a material by using a mold to produce miniaturize and nano-size crystal particles in a conic pipe. According to the severe plastic deformation method of the present invention, a punch that matches an inner shape of the conic metal pipe is mounted inside the conic metal pipe, and then a mold that matches an outer shape of the conic metal pipe is mounted outside the conic metal pipe. Thus, microstructures of the conic metal pipe may be ultra-finely crystallized or nano-crystallized through shearing by applying compression and torsion to the conic metal pipe.

An artificial marble according to the present invention is produced by using the artificial marble chip, curable resin matrix, and inorganic filler as main components. The curable resin is preferably selected from acrylic resin, unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, or a copolymer thereof. The artificial marble according to the present invention is produced by the steps of: producing an artificial marble composition by mixing the artificial marble chip, the inorganic filler, and other additives into the curable resin matrix; and curing the composition at about 25 to about 180° C. The invention can also include the step of defoaming the composition prior to curing.

    Abstract: A zirconium alloy for use in nuclear fuel assemblies is provided, which provides increased resistance against oxidation and corrosion and also improved bonding with parent material, because pure metallic material such as silicon (Si) or chromium (Cr) is evenly coated on the surface of the parent material by plasma spraying. Because the plasma spray coating used to coat the pure metallic material on the zirconium alloy does not require vacuum equipment and also is not limited due to the shape of the coated product, this is particularly useful when evenly treating the surface of the component such as 4 m-long tube or spacer grip arrangement which is very complicated in shape. Furthermore, because the coated zirconium alloy confers excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion under emergency such as accident as well as normal service condition, both the economic and safety aspects of nuclear fuel are improved.
