Abstract: An apparatus and method for multimedia file streaming are provided. In a method for multimedia file streaming in a receiving portable terminal, the method includes determining meta data included in a received packet, generating new meta data having a circular-type media data offset on the basis of the meta data, storing media data included in the packet received in a circular manner according to the media data offset included in the new meta data, and loading the media data stored according to the media data offset included in the new meta data.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation is configured to automatically set an optimal GPS reception period and optimal map contents according to a moving speed of a user in a navigation system using a GPS terminal. When the moving speed of the user is considered, power efficiency is increased by optimizing a GPS reception period in terms of hardware and system load is decreased by reducing an unnecessary system operation in terms of software. User convenience is maximized by optimizing map contents requested by the user according to a moving speed in real time and displaying the optimized map contents.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for dynamically creating a community space in a virtual space. A request for a connection to a personal web space of another user to be visited by a user possessing a personal web space is made. When the connection request is identified, a new community space is generated by connecting the personal web spaces of the users to each other. Immediate interaction between the users is performed in the generated new community space.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for configuring an idle screen, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for analyzing functions of a terminal according to a user's environmental state, and configuring an idle screen in accordance with the analysis. According to the apparatus and method, when a change in a current environmental state is sensed while performing the selected terminal function, the terminal determines an environmental state information item corresponding to a changed environmental state, and updates the selected terminal function in a terminal function item corresponding to the determined environmental state information item. When there is a request for displaying an idle screen, the terminal determines a current environmental state item corresponding to the currently environmental state, extracts one or more terminal functions corresponding to the determined environmental state information item, and configures the idle screen using the extracted terminal functions.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method for providing a real-time streaming service between terminals by using a wired/wireless communication channel. The system for providing a real-time streaming service between terminals includes a server terminal for parsing and separately storing header information of media data, decoding and outputting each of video and audio data included in the media data, and providing header information and the media data being currently reproduced in response to a sharing request for the media data; and a client terminal for generating a decoder by means of the header information received from the server terminal according to the sharing request for the media data being reproduced in the server terminal, decoding the media data provided from the server terminal by means of the generated decoder, and outputting the media data.
