  • Patent number: 4856726
Abstract: A stopper device for tape measures is disclosed which does not make direct contact with the rule, and therefore, it does not cause erasing of the scale marks on the rule. This is achieved by providing a plurality of protrusions at regular intervals around the circumferential flange surfaces of a flanged spool winding case, and also by providing a stopper unit to be selectively engaged with and disengaged from the protrusions.
