  • Patent number: 7884164
Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalyst system for olefin polymerization and a method for olefin polymerization using the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a Ziegler-Natta catalyst system for olefin polymerization comprising a transition metal compound as a main catalyst component, an organic metal compound as a cocatalyst component, and a cyclic organosilane compound, trioxasilocane as an external electron donor, and a method for olefin polymerization using the same. According to the present invention, a polyolefin having improved various properties such as polymerization activity, melt-flow ability, isotacticity, molecular weight distribution and apparent density can be produced.

  • Publication number: 20100216955
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of preparing a highly transparent polypropylene comprising a step of prepolymerizing an ?-olefin and a vinyl cyclic saturated hydrocarbon in the presence of a Zegler-Natta catalyst and an external electron donor, wherein a step of adding and prepolymerizing the ?-olefin is followed by a step of adding and prepolymerizing the vinyl cyclic saturated hydrocarbon. The method provides polypropylene having superior tacticity and transparency with not decreasing the activity of the polymerization catalyst at the polymerization of propylene.

  • Patent number: 7776979
Abstract: The present invention relates to a prepolymerized catalyst for olefin polymerization, a process for polymerizing an olefin by using the catalyst and a polyolefin produced by the process, in which a Ziegler-Natta catalyst is prepolymerized sequentially using ?-olefin and vinyl saturated cyclic hydrocarbon, and then an olefin is polymerized using the prepolymerized Ziegler-Natta catalyst, thereby producing a polyolefin with high yield. Therefore, the polymerized polyolefin has high Isotactic index, bulk density, and crystallinity.
