Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling roller rotation in the laminator in order to resolve such problems, such that the film detecting sensor in the entrance side and the film detecting sensor in the exit side are provided in the front and back of the roller for normal operation of the laminator, so that if the film is not detected by the film detecting senor in the exit side after insertion of the laminating film is detected by the film detecting sensor in the entrance side, then the roller is rotated backward under judgment that the laminator does not normally operate.
