  • Publication number: 20080279296
Abstract: A method for transmitting downlink control information and a method for generating a codeword for the same are disclosed. In generating a long code having a low code rate, a basic code of which minimum distance between codes is maximized is repeated by a prescribed number of times and bits of the repeated code are adjusted. Therefore, a minimum distance condition between codes of a long code is satisfied and simultaneously the code can be simply generated. Furthermore, control information can be transmitted with a low error rate by using the generated code.

  • Patent number: 7372831
Abstract: Transmitting an acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) signal in association with a packet transmitted on an uplink is disclosed. The method includes the steps of receiving a packet transmitted from a user equipment, decoding the packet, and determining whether the packet has been successfully decoded, transmitting an ACK signal or a NACK signal, based on the decoding result. Different transmission powers are allocated for the ACK signal and the NACK signal. Alternatively, the transmission power for the NACK signal selectively has an OFF level. The present invention optimizes the transmission powers for downlink ACK/NACK signals in accordance with the required reception quality of each of the ACK/NACK signals, and thus, enables the system to operate efficiently.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an orthogonal spreading code in a code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile communication system, and more particularly, to a method for generating and allocating code or code pairs on the basis of an orthogonal code set, which is generated using orthogonal spreading codes, so as to reduce a peak-to-average power ratio and enlarge the length of an interference free window. In accordance with the invention, at least one orthogonal code set is generated based upon orthogonal spreading codes, one of the at least one orthogonal code set is determined as a representative orthogonal code set, and then the order is allocated according to rules determined based upon the representative orthogonal code set. The codes or code pairs are generated and allocated using the orthogonal spreading codes, so as to reduce a Peak-to-Average Power Ratio or extend the length of an interference free window (IFW).

  • Patent number: 7027494
Abstract: An orthogonal spread code for a mobile communication system is provided which increases an interference free window (IFW) interval as well as the element number of the orthogonal code set. A large synchronization (LS) code is generated by using an initial 2×2 matrix to generate magnified first and second square matrices. A third square matrix is then generated based on the first and second square matrices, and a code sequence is generated from the rows or columns of the third square matrix. In this manner, the inversely proportional relationship between the element number of the orthogonal code set and the IFW interval may be established, and used to avoid channel prediction errors and reduce power imbalance.

  • Publication number: 20060067279
Abstract: A method of transmitting a data packet based on a transport format combination set (TFCS) using a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) is disclosed. In the method, a user equipment (UE) receives a TFCS from a base station (BS) to select a transport format combination (TFC) for retransmitting a data packet and selects from the TFCS a TFC which corresponds to a maximum transmission power by which the data packet is retransmitted. Thereafter, the UE retransmits the data packet using the TFC of an initial transmission and a transmission power that corresponds to the TFC with the maximum transmission power of the TFCS.
