    Abstract: A spam SMS blocking system and a method thereof for blocking reception of SMS messages which are transmitted in large quantities for the purpose of advertisement using short messages (SMS messages) through a wireless communication network are disclosed. A spam short message blocking system for authenticating a short message transmitted from a sender terminal prior to reception by a receiver terminal includes an SMS processing server for receiving the short message from the sender terminal, requesting authentication as to whether the short message is transmitted by the sender terminal, and transmitting the short message to the receiver terminal if a response to the request is received.
