    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a low-pressure type orbiting vane compressor that is capable of diverging low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas introduced into a shell through an inlet tube to an inlet port of a cylinder and a drive unit so as to simultaneously compress the refrigerant gas and cool the drive unit. The orbiting vane compressor comprises a vertical baffle disposed in the shell while being spaced apart from the inner end of the inlet tube, and a diverging channel defined between the baffle and the inlet tube, the diverging channel having one end communicating with the inlet port of the cylinder and the other end communicating with the drive unit. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of preventing overheating of the drive unit, and therefore, improving performance and reliability of the orbiting vane compressor.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a slider adapting apparatus for orbiting vane compressors. A circular vane of an orbiting vane is disposed in an annular space defined in a cylinder. A pair of sliders is coupled with the circular vane for performing reciprocating movement along the annular space while being in tight contact with both ends of an opening formed at the circular vane to seal between compression chambers formed in the annular space. The slider adapting apparatus comprises a gap defined between the sliders, which are spaced apart from each other, and a gap maintaining part for maintaining the gap while increasing and decreasing the gap. Using the slider adapting apparatus, damage to parts and a locking phenomenon due to severe interference between the circular vane and the sliders are prevented, and therefore, a drive unit of the orbiting vane compressor is effectively prevented from suffering overload and catching fire.

The compression unit comprises a circular operation space formed in a cylinder, the circular operation space having opposite ends, a circular vane disposed in the operation space for performing an orbiting movement, the circular vane having opposite ends, a linear slider disposed in the operation space for performing a linear reciprocating movement while one end of the linear slider is in contact with the end of the circular vane, and a pressurizing member disposed in the operation space adjacent to the other end of the linear slider for applying pressure to the linear slider such that the linear slider is brought into tight contact with the circular vane. Consequently, interference between the inner wall of the cylinder and the circular vane is prevented, and creation of dead volume in the operation space is prevented.

The back pressure apparatus comprises a back pressure chamber formed at the upper surface of a main frame, which is brought into tight contact with the lower surface of a vane plate of an orbiting vane, and a low-pressure gas communication part for allowing the back pressure chamber and an inlet port to communicate with each other therethrough. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of preventing excessive friction between the orbiting vane and the inner surface of a cylinder, preventing damage to the orbiting vane compressor due to the friction, and preventing deterioration of performance of the orbiting vane compressor due to the frictional loss.

The stopper hole overlaps with the crank pin hole so that the stopper selectively comes into contact with the cut surface in accordance with a rotation of the crank pin. The stopper has a length shorter than that of the stopper hole.
