  • Publication number: 20110011206
Abstract: A driveline yoke is integrally formed as one-piece with a brake rotor. At least one caliper includes a friction element that selectively engages the brake rotor. In one example, the yoke is coupled to a front output of a transfer case and the caliper is mounted to a housing of the transfer case with the friction element engaging a braking surface on the brake rotor in response to a parking brake request.

  • Patent number: 5607034
Abstract: An improved brake shoe table includes the edges of the brake shoe table being bent radially inwardly relative to the remainder of the table by between 45 and 90 degrees. The bent edges increase the rigidity of the brake shoe and also reduce localized lining wear by bringing the lining into contact with a brake drum in a more uniform fashion. Moreover, the improved brake shoe design has unexpectedly decreased the operation noise associated with the use of a cam brake system.

  • Patent number: 4500074
Abstract: Fluid-operated apparatus is provided for handling and lifting loads of various weights. The apparatus includes a fluid-operated hoist with an elongate member extending therefrom to a load-carrying unit. A pilot fluid-controlled regulator supplies fluid to the hoist and a load-responsive, pilot fluid regulator is carried by the load-carrying unit and supplies pilot fluid to the pilot fluid-controlled regulator. The pilot fluid is varied according to the weight of a load so that the pressure of the fluid supplied to the hoist is accordingly varied by the pilot fluid-controlled regulator to automatically balance the load carried by the load-carrying unit. The load can also be lifted by bypassing the pilot fluid-controlled regulator and controlling flow of fluid to the hoist by a manually-adjustable flow control valve. The apparatus also can include a brake for preventing the elongate member from moving up or down while loads are being changed or are at rest.
