  • Publication number: 20100279909
Abstract: A composition comprising surfactant, structuring agent, glycerin, and a silica particle that disintegrates during use. Also, a method comprising applying the composition to hands; rubbing the hands together until a sensory change detectable to the hands is perceived; and rinsing the hands with water. The composition provides a signal to a user to continue washing for a sufficient time. This silica particle disintegrates to a size that is not felt by a user, and this indicates to the user that there has been a sufficient time for washing.

  • Publication number: 20060079415
Abstract: A conditioning shampoo comprising: (a) 4-25 weight % of an anionic surfactant or mixtures of two or more anionic surfactants; (b) 0.025-3 weight % of a cationic deposition polymer; (c) 0.1-5 weight % of a detergent soluble silicone having a molecular weight less than 100,000 daltons; and (d) water.

  • Patent number: 5693317
Abstract: Hair rinse compositions, in emulsion or dispersion form, which condition the hair and facilitates setting thereof, includes a hair conditioning and emulsifying cationic compound, a water insoluble acrylic or acrylate polymer and a solvent which is a stabilizing and compatibilizing proportion of the composition comprising a higher aliphatic alcohol and/or alcohol ethoxylate, in an aqueous medium. The cationic compound is a quarternary ammonium salt preferably a higher alkyl trimethyl ammonium chloride and the polymer is preferably an acrylamide acrylate copolymer. Preferably solvents in the compositions are C.sub.9-20 aliphatic alcohols and/or C.sub.9-20 alcohol ethoxylates having less than 2 ethoxy groups per mole. The preferred emulsion, which is normally of the oil-in-water type, preferably includes propylene glycol and a nonionic surfactant, and the aqueous medium is preferably water, or is essentially water. The invention also includes processes for making and using the invented hair rinse compositions.

  • Patent number: 5106613
Abstract: A hair conditioning shampoo is described, which contains C.sub.6, C.sub.8 and/or C.sub.10 alkyl sulfate and/or C.sub.6, C.sub.8 and/or C.sub.10 alkyl lower alkoxylate sulfate as an anionic detergent component, a water insoluble conditioning agent(s) from the group of silicones (preferably a certain type of aminosilicone), polyethylenes, paraffins, isoparaffins, microcrystalline waxes, C.sub.18-36(mixed) fatty acids or such triglycerides, high fatty alcohol ester of a high fatty acid (such as stearyl stearate), beeswax, cationic conditioning agent, such as a quaternary ammonium or any mixture thereof, and a stabilizer for the shampoo, in water. Among adjuvants that may be present are lauric monoethanolamide, cocodiethanolamide, and hydroxyethyl cellulose, other thickeners and viscosity modifiers, pH adjusting agents, antioxidants perfumes and colorants. The presence of the C.sub.6, C.sub.8 and/or C.sub.10 alkyl sulfate and/or C.sub.6, C.sub.8 and/or C.sub.
