Patent number: 10406570Abstract: An access device for installation to a condensation drainage system, such as a drain line of an HVAC unit, includes a main body with connecting ports at opposite ends for sealed, fluid flow inline connection to the drainage system. A top cover releasably secures to the main body to completely cover and seal an open top and interior cavity. A cleanout adapter has a flange that surrounds a bottom opening. The flange includes a seal around its outer periphery and is structured for sliding receipt within either of two transverse slots within the interior cavity to position the bottom opening of the adapter in sealed alignment with either of the connection ports, whereby a pressurized gas or liquid flow source, or a vacuum source can be connected to a top opening of the adapter for clearing a clog in the drain line either upstream or downstream of the access device.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2018Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: RS ACQUISITION SUB, LLCInventors: Stuart Oakner, Donna Oakner

Patent number: 10099265Abstract: A foot operated pump includes a water and airtight flexible and collapsible wall between a top plate and a base plate and an interior variable volume chamber. A flexible hose is selectively attachable to either an inlet port or an outlet port on the top plate member. The contents (air and/or liquid) within the variable volume chamber are forced out of the outlet port upon forced downward movement of the top plate member towards the base plate member. As the top plate member returns to a normally relaxed state in separated, angled relation to the base plate, the variable volume chamber enlarges and air is sucked through the inlet port to fill the variable volume chamber. An opposite end of the flexible hose attaches to various adapters and fittings for clearing clogged drain lines and other conduits.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2017Date of Patent: October 16, 2018Assignee: MSD Research, Inc.Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Donna Oakner

Patent number: 9423148Abstract: A mounting device for removably supporting an overflow safety switch in operable position within a condensation collecting drain pan in HVACR equipment. The mounting device includes a clip member that is secured to the drain pan side wall and locked in place by a non-penetrating thumb screw. A bracket removably attaches to the overflow safety switch at several adjusted positions and is slidably adjustable on the clip member for adjustably positioning the overflow safety switch relative to a bottom of the drain pan. The overflow safety switch is easily removed from the bracket for adjustment and replacement while the bracket remains fitted to the clip member. Moreover, the bracket is easily removed from the clip member without removing the clip member from the drain pan side wall.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2015Date of Patent: August 23, 2016Assignee: MSD RESEARCH, INC.Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Donna Oakner

Patent number: 9217577Abstract: An access device for installation to a condensation drainage system, such as a drain line of an HVAC unit, includes a main body with at least one connecting port for sealed, fluid receiving connection to the drainage system and an open top communicating with an interior cavity. A top cover releasably secures to the main body to completely cover the open top. An overflow safety switch is removably held in operable position within the interior cavity and below the top cover. The switch senses the level of condensate liquid accumulating with the interior cavity and sends an electronic signal to disable the condensation producing equipment if the liquid reaches a predetermined level.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2015Date of Patent: December 22, 2015Assignee: MSD Research, Inc.Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Donna Oakner

Patent number: 8967183Abstract: A drain line access device is provided for flushing HVACR drain lines. The device includes a main body having input and outlet connection ports on opposite ends for inline installation to a drain line, a flapper assembly sized and configured for seated placement in an interior cavity of the main body, and a removable top cover. The flapper assembly includes a flapper holder, a flapper, a flapper seat, and a spring hinge for rotatably urging the flapper into the normally raised position. An injection port is provided on the top cover for delivering a flow of pressurized gas or liquid for flushing out a clog in the drain line. In operation, delivery of pressurized gas or fluid into the drain line forces the flapper against the flapper seat, thereby sealing off one of the respective ends of the main body and directing the pressurized gas into the drain line.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2013Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: MSD Research, Inc.Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Donna Oakner

Publication number: 20140338758Abstract: A drain line valve device is provided for flushing HVACR drain lines. The device includes a main valve body having inlet and outlet connection ports on opposite ends for inline installation to a drain line (between the condensation producing source and drain discharge). The device includes a removable top cover and an adapter that is sized and configured for insertion into the interior cavity of the main body and fitted receipt within the inside of one of the input or outlet ports. The adapter allows for connection of a pressurized gas or liquid flow source for clearing clogs in the drain line, or a vacuum source, as well as pouring of a liquid clog-cleaning product into the drain line. One embodiment of the device includes a main valve body having one connection port for connection with an auxiliary outlet of a drain pan. An overflow safety switch is supported by the top cover in the interior cavity of the main valve body for detecting a clog in the drain line.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2014Publication date: November 20, 2014Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Donna Oakner

Publication number: 20050284866Abstract: A disposable trash container has a lining made of plastic or other material forming a bottom and sides, and an expandable spring loaded frame structure connecting between a base at the bottom of the lining and a top hoop near a closable top opening of the lining. One or more clasps hold the lining and frame structure collapsed flat near the base in a low profile state for packaging. When ready for use, the clasp(s) is operated to release the spring loaded frame structure, thereby causing the trash container to open as the frame structure expands and the top hoop moves upwardly and away from the base. The top opening of the lining may be provided with a drawstring or other means to close the trash container prior to disposal.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2004Publication date: December 29, 2005Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Mark Brannick, Donna Oakner Brannick

Publication number: 20050280548Abstract: An alarm device that connects to a circuit using two wires and is actuated when a switch changes the status of the circuit from a normally closed circuit condition to open circuit condition. The alarm device includes a PC board with an electronic buzzer, an electronic signal transmitter and/or a visual indicator, such as a flashing LED, all of which may be enclosed within a case. The circuitry of the alarm device is non-polarized, thereby allowing the two wires to be connected to either terminal connection point in the circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2004Publication date: December 22, 2005Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Mark Brannick, Donna Oakner Brannick

Publication number: 20050166613Abstract: A safety switch prevents overflow of condensate that collects in the drain pan of an air-cooling system. The overflow safety switch attaches to the condensate drainage system and is electrically connected to a circuit of the air-cooling system, a power circuit, a control circuit and/or an alarm circuit. The switch includes a tube that extends within the condensate drain pan or any other water conducting point in the condensate drainage system. A reed switch is sealed within the tube and a float containing a magnet is moveably supported on the exterior of the tube. The float ascends or descends in response to the level of the liquid condensate within the drain pan. As the float moves relative to the tube, the magnet causes the reed switch to open, thereby interrupting operation of the air-cooling system and/or actuating the alarm circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2004Publication date: August 4, 2005Inventors: Stuart Oakner, Mark Brannick, Donna Oakner-Brannick
